David Arquette Dishes on ‘Bone Tomahawk’ Legacy and ‘Mob Cops’ Success
Amidst the current entertainment scene where western content is particularly popular, it’s worth reminding ourselves about the gripping gem “Bone Tomahawk,” starring Kurt Russell. This year marks a decade since this chilling western horror film graced our screens. The stellar cast included Patrick Wilson from “Insidious,” the late Sid Haig, who often worked with Rob Zombie, and others. Recently, MovieWeb interviewed Arquette during the release of his police drama film “Mob Cops.” In addition to discussing his latest project, Arquette also shared some thoughts about working on “Bone Tomahawk” alongside such esteemed actors. Arquette recounted:
Working alongside Sid Haig was truly an honor, as he’s a phenomenal, iconic actor. It might have been his last role, so I feel incredibly fortunate to have crossed paths with him and collaborated on a project together. And then there’s Kurt Russell – we worked together on “3,000 Miles to Graceland”. To see him again in this was wonderful, and he delivered an exceptional performance in every scene. He’s simply an astounding actor.
Arquette went on to say, “It’s always a privilege to collaborate with such esteemed figures, truly remarkable individuals, and become a member of an exceptional team. My role, I believe, spanned only two days, though it could have been merely one day. It set the film in motion and was quite enjoyable, developing rather swiftly. However, being involved in a film that maintains its relevance and is still cherished by audiences over time truly felt like a blessing.
How ‘Mob Cops’ Delivers a “Family Environment”
Currently, there’s a new project titled “Mob Cops” on the horizon, co-created by actress Patricia Arquette and director Danny A. Abeckaser (with their upcoming film “The Perfect Gamble” still under wraps). Previously, this duo teamed up for “Mob Town” (2019), and in their latest venture, they’ve crafted a gritty tale about a law enforcement officer who finds himself entangled with criminal masterminds. This film is based on real events that transpired in the 1980s and continued until the year 2005, making it a must-watch for fans of gangster stories (cough, MobLand viewers). Arquette recently shared with us his delightful experience collaborating frequently with Abeckaser.
He’s exceptional, and his nickname is Danny A., which speaks volumes about his popularity. Anyone who knows Danny A. is undoubtedly a big fan. His kindness shines immensely, fostering a warm family-like atmosphere wherever he goes. He has a deep passion for film and the mob genre, particularly crafting captivating characters. He appreciates complex and compelling roles, and often collaborates with Barry Markowitz, an esteemed cinematographer known for his work on ‘All the Pretty Horses’, ‘Sling Blade’, and ‘The Apostle’. Working with them is always exciting. Danny’s energy is infectious, making his set a lively and enjoyable place to be.
The movie’s final product carries a strong, tangible energy. Now, you can catch Mob Cops, produced by Lionsgate, in theaters, on-demand, or digitally.
