Sources say David and Victoria Beckham deeply regret allowing their son Brooklyn to move so far away and are upset by recent events in his life.
Brooklyn Beckham publicly escalated his ongoing family conflict on Monday by sharing a critical six-page statement on Instagram.
Brooklyn, 26, stated he doesn’t want to get back in touch with his family and claims his parents deliberately tried to sabotage his relationship with his wife, Nicola Peltz, 30.
According to a source close to the couple, they’re open to reconciling with their son whenever he’s ready, and they worry about the possibility of never having a relationship with him again.
The insider said: ‘They are afraid of losing their son and would take him back in a minute.
‘They are a close family, too. Just in a different way than Nicola’s family is.’
The source continued to tell PEOPLE: ‘They love Brooklyn and are horrified about everything.’
Another source shared that David and Victoria hope things will get better with time.
‘They know over time that Brooklyn will come back. They can’t really do anything until then.’
Daily Mail has contacted representatives for Victoria, 51, and David, 50.
Okay, so I’ve been following this whole thing, and honestly, it’s wild! Apparently, Brooklyn is furious and claims Victoria, his mom, was ‘dancing inappropriately’ at his wedding to Nicola back in 2022. I’ve read every detail, and it sounds like he’s seriously upset about it. It’s just… a lot. I can’t believe this is even happening!
Wedding DJ Fat Tony shared the full story of the dance during an interview on the show This Morning.
The 60-year-old described the situation as ‘very uncomfortable’ and said Nicola left the party crying.
Okay, so I’ve known the Beckhams for years, and I’m hearing a pretty interesting story. Apparently, Marc Anthony was at a recent event and, according to a friend of the family, he pulled Victoria and her son onto the dance floor. He then reportedly told her son to put his hands on Victoria’s hips. It’s a bit of a surprising detail, and definitely sparked some conversation!
He said: ‘There was no slut-dropping, there was no PVC cat suits, no Spice Girl action!
‘The word “inappropriate”, why I said it was as well, it was the timing, this is what happened.’
Tony explained that Marc Anthony was performing when he invited someone named Brooklyn up on stage.
Brooklyn walked onto the stage, and everyone immediately anticipated Nicola would be next for the first dance. Then, Marc asked the most beautiful woman in the room to join him on stage, and surprisingly, he called for Victoria.
He shared that Brooklyn appeared deeply upset that he danced with Victoria instead of his wife, and Nicola was reportedly heartbroken, leaving the room in tears.
Tony continued, explaining that Brooklyn was left on stage during a performance. Marc Anthony then instructed everyone to ‘put your hands on your mother’s hips’ – a move with Latin origins – which created a very uncomfortable atmosphere for those present.
I’ve hosted many parties for the Beckhams, and they’re a very close and lively family who really enjoy dancing. What some people might consider inappropriate isn’t how Brooklyn sees things.
This comes down to Brooklyn’s personal experience. If he felt uncomfortable with something, then it was, for him, uncomfortable.
It’s disappointing that people have focused on this one part of what was said and ignored everything else that happened.
The DJ told the Daily Mail that Brooklyn once had his hands around his mother’s waist, while she had her arms wrapped around his neck.
‘The timing was inappropriate for me. It was meant to be a bride and groom’s moment,’ he told us.
‘It was in the heat of the moment.
‘Brooklyn left right after the dance. Nicola left the room and afterwards he went after her.
‘Nicola’s family left, they went after their daughter.
‘Marc Anthony is a latin singer. It was a love song.’
When questioned about touching Victoria’s hips, Brooklyn explained they were slow dancing, not something fast-paced like a samba. He said Victoria had her arms wrapped around his neck at the time.
He continued, saying that Brooklyn is a friend and he’s really upset about how the whole thing has become so public.
You know, as someone who observes family dynamics a lot, I’ve learned that things just happen. There’s often a point where something gets said, maybe even out in the open, and suddenly, here we are dealing with the fallout. It’s just the nature of families – complex and sometimes unpredictable!
He went on to explain that Brooklyn tends to dwell on issues, and even minor problems can seem huge because they draw so much attention.
I’m not taking sides or criticizing anyone involved, I’m simply clarifying what actually happened with the dance.
