As a lifestyle expert with over three decades of experience in the radio industry, I must say that Dave Hughes’ potential move to Triple M Melbourne is an exciting development for both the station and the listeners. The chemistry between Hughes and his co-host Kate Langbroek has always been undeniable, and their success at Nova, KIIS, and the Hit Network speaks volumes about their ability to captivate audiences.

It’s possible that Dave Hughes could move to Triple M Melbourne to host the morning shift, as his previous show with Hughesy, Ed & Erin ended due to declining ratings.

Based on recent reports, it appears that the comedian is well-positioned to assume the spot previously held by Marty Sheargold, who stepped down this year, in 2025.

According to a report by the Herald Sun on Friday, it’s possible that Hughes is considering bringing Kate Langbroek with him following their past and present success together at Nova, KIIS, and the Hit Network.

According to the report, they’re being considered for the position, but SCA’s Chief Content Officer, Dave Cameron, stated this week that the situation remains uncertain.

In my role as a lifestyle expert, I must share that at this point in time, I haven’t yet finalized the details regarding Triple M Melbourne for the year 2025. Stay tuned for updates!

As a die-hard fan, I can’t help but ponder over the whispers surrounding the cancellation of my beloved Hughesy, Ed & Erin show. It seems one significant factor might have been the refusal by our dear host, Hughes, to relocate permanently across state lines.

Every morning, a 53-year-old resident of Melbourne traveled to Sydney to host the 2Day FM breakfast program, which is actually recorded there.

As a die-hard fan, I’ve been following the news closely, and here’s what I’ve gathered: It seems that the bigwigs at 2Day FM were eager for my beloved radio star to uproot us to Sydney, the Harbour City. However, my wife Holly, who’s equally passionate about our life in Melbourne, has grown tired of his lengthy commute and yearns for more shared moments here.

I myself expressed to executives at Southern Cross Austereo (the network behind 2Day FM) that I had no intentions of relocating, which in turn prevented me from consenting to another year on the breakfast show.

Daily Mail Australia has contacted Hughes for comment.

On Hughes’ program, which is co-hosted by Ed Kavalee, Erin Molan, and another host, experienced a minimal market share of just 3.6% during the most recent viewer rating survey.

Today, 2Day FM made the decision announced on Wednesday evening to discontinue their current show and instead feature Jimmy Smith and Nath Roye’s The Jimmy and Nath Show during the night shift, starting immediately.

Hughsey, Ed, and Erin expressed their appreciation for their time on the 2DayFM Breakfast show, but regrettably must step down due to family commitments in different cities preventing them from committing to 2025. With sadness, they are making room for a new team to take over the Breakfast slot at 2DayFM.

“We’re incredibly thankful for Sydney’s assistance. Doubling our audience in just three years is something we take immense pride in, and we’ll dearly miss every single member.”

After the declaration, Southern Cross Austereo expressed gratitude towards the radio hosts for their fervor and dedication.

“Dave Cameron expressed heartfelt gratitude towards Hughesy, Ed, and Erin for maintaining their consistent commitment to turning the 2DayFM Breakfast show into a lively morning wake-up call for Sydney since 2020. He also wished them continued success in their impressive careers.”

The announcement comes after whispers suggest that Hughes may be teaming up again with Langbroek, who is 58 years old, for a revival of the well-known “Hughesy and Kate” program.

In 2019, the duo were the last ones to host Hit FM’s well-liked show, following which Langbroek decided to retreat from the program and relocate to Italy.

In the latest development, Hughes made a successful appearance as a guest on Triple M’s The Rush Hour in Melbourne, an event that resonated well with its audience.

Hughes and Langbroek first teamed together in 2001 for Nova 100’s Melbourne breakfast show.

At present, Langbroek is a co-host on the well-liked podcast “The Buck Up,” having left her previous job at KIIS FM’s “The Pick Up” two years back.

She teased a potential radio reunion with Hughes last year.

Last August, she shared with the Herald Sun that our relationship is overflowing with love, and there’s no limit to what we might do together.
