Dave Hughes as you have never seen him before! Veteran comedian shocks fans as he flaunts his ample beach body
Dave Hughes is embracing his silver fox era – and he’s not shy about it.
On a sunny Saturday, the 54-year-old humorist left his followers in awe by posting a photo of himself, bare-chested and toned, on Instagram from Byron Bay beach, where he was enjoying the sun before his upcoming stand-up performance that evening.
With a self-assured grin under his aviator shades and wearing casual beach attire, Hughesy playfully captioned his post: ‘Is it me or the rain keeping people away from Byron Main Beach?’ However, the photo itself was what truly captured everyone’s attention.
He playfully titled a picture he placed above it, boasting himself as “the hottest and sole occupant” of Byron Bay beach, using typical Hughesy humor, and included the enigmatic hashtag “#pregnantgreyhound”.
At 54 years old, Hughes carried an impressive physique, boasting a slender waistline and well-defined muscles, which caused fans to pause in disbelief.

Supporters and other famous figures swiftly filled the comment area with applause and playful remarks. Comedian Joe White added fire symbols, while a fan exclaimed: “You look fantastic! Have fun.
In the year 2006, during New Year’s festivities, Hughes exchanged marriage vows with his wife Holly, and they are proud parents to three wonderful kids – Rafferty (age 15), Sadie (age 13), and Tess (age 11).
The comedian faced a tough year, given that his popular morning program Hughesy, Ed and Erin was canceled from 2DayFM around August.
2Day FM made the decision to terminate their trio of hosts on August 8, notifying listeners that they are discontinuing the program and replacing it with late-night personalities Jimmy Smith and Nath Roye, currently hosting The Jimmy and Nath Show.
The news arrived in the evening, stating that the struggling hosts would have one final broadcast the next morning to conclude their program – however, they chose not to return for another airing.
As die-hard fans who’ve cherished every moment with you on 2DayFM Breakfast, it’s heartbreaking for us to say this – but life’s twists have forced us apart. Our beloved ones reside in various cities, making it difficult for us to promise our unwavering presence in 2025. Hughsey, Ed and Erin.
With regret, we’re stepping back to give 2DayFM space to locate their new breakfast team.
In the most recent viewer survey, the show, which is co-hosted by Dave, Ed Kavalee, and Erin Molan, only achieved a market share of 3.6.

It’s said that millions of dollars were spent in an attempt to save the long-running radio program, yet no efforts succeeded in keeping it broadcasted.
Based on what sources within the industry are saying, the departure was something that had been expected for quite some time by the three members. Their dwindling popularity, it seems, was the last straw that sealed their fate.
According to an insider, Southern Cross Austereo has invested heavily in making this program thrive, even moving Hughesy from Melbourne to better connect with Sydney audiences. However, it’s been challenging for the show to attract a significant audience.
SCA went on to thank the radio hosts for their ‘passion and commitment’ following the announcement.
Dave Cameron, SCA’s Chief Content Officer, expressed heartfelt gratitude towards Hughesy, Ed, and Erin for their consistent commitment in turning the 2DayFM Breakfast show into a lively morning ritual for Sydney since 2020. He wishes them continued success,” said Dave Cameron.
