Dave Grohl confirms he has fathered child “born outside” his marriage

As a longtime Foo Fighters fan who’s followed Dave Grohl’s career from the early days of Nirvana to his current reign as the king of rock, this news has left me both surprised and saddened. Surprised because Dave, despite his larger-than-life persona, always seemed like a family man; saddened because no one should have to go through the public scrutiny that comes with announcing such personal matters.

Dave Grohl, the lead singer of Foo Fighters, has disclosed that he recently became a father to a child born outside his current marital relationship.

On his Instagram, the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer shared a post on Tuesday (September) expressing his intention to seek forgiveness from his wife and kids after making a mistake.

“I’ve recently become the father of a new baby daughter, born outside of my marriage,” he wrote. “I plan to be a loving and supportive parent to her. I love my wife and my children, and I am doing everything I can to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness.”

The actor from Studio 666 expressed: “We appreciate your thoughtfulness towards all the kids who are part of this journey, as we advance side by side.

Grohl disabled comments on his post and hasn’t shared any additional information about the arrival of his new baby girl yet.

Back in 2003, I tied the knot with my lovely wife, Jordyn Blum, in a heartwarming ceremony. Our paths crossed at the legendary Sunset Marquis Whiskey Bar in West Hollywood, where our shared love for music and good spirits ignited a connection that has since stood the test of time.

As a devoted fan, I’m delighted to share that the Grohl family, which includes me, has three wonderful kids. We have an 18-year-old named Violet Maye, a 15-year-old called Harper Willow, and our youngest, Ophelia Saint, who is 10 years old.

After wrapping up their summer stadium tour across the U.S. to publicize their latest album titled “But Here We Are” (their first since the heartbreaking demise of their drummer Taylor Hawkins in March 2022), Foo Fighters are set to return to American stages for a headlining act at the Soundside Music Festival in Bridgeport, CT, later this month.

Beyond his performances on the concert stage, Grohl is also known for directing the eight-part HBO series titled “Foo Fighters: Sonic Highways” and the documentary film “Sound City“. More recently, he has taken on the roles of producer and director for the Prime Video film “What Drives Us“, which focuses on emerging rock bands RadKey and Starcrawler.
