Dave Bautista’s action sequel is now available to watch on Prime Video
As a huge fan of Dave Bautista and Chloe Coleman, I was thrilled to learn that they are teaming up once again for “My Spy: The Eternal City,” now available to stream on Amazon Prime Video. Having enjoyed their chemistry in the first installment, I was excited to see how their dynamic would evolve in this sequel.

In the continuation of the 2020 action film “My Spy,” veteran CIA agent JJ, portrayed by Bautista, and his 14-year-old stepdaughter Sophie, played by Coleman, come together once more to thwart a catastrophic nuclear threat.
In the new film, Ken Jeong and Kristen Schaal of “Community” return to their roles from the last production. Additionally, Anna Faris, Craig Robinson, and Flula Borg join the cast.
Directed by Pete Segal, My Spy: The Eternal City is set five years after the first movie.
Teenager Sophie, eager for autonomy, is deeply involved with her school choir that’s been selected for a tour of Italy. Highlights include a performance for the Pope in Vatican City. Unfortunately, JJ unexpectedly signs up as a chaperone, meaning they’ll be inseparable during the trip.
Yet, their exciting holiday plans are upended as they unwittingly find themselves caught up in a terrorist scheme.

In the year 2020, when the COVID-19 pandemic was ongoing, the film “My Spy” made its cinema debut in the UK on March 13. Meanwhile, US viewers could stream it online starting from June 26.
In early 2023, I was pleasantly surprised to hear that the movie, despite receiving a disappointing 48% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes, had managed to secure a sequel. And even better, both of its leading stars were set to reprise their roles for another thrilling adventure.
During an interview on Today, Bautista expressed his hope that every filming experience for the sequel could be as great as it was. He said, “I really hope it can always be this good.”
As a gamer, I wasn’t just playing with my family, but the breathtaking sceneries we filmed at took my experience to another level.
Bautista and Ken Jeong commended Chloe Coleman’s performance in the film, with Jeong adding that she brought “warmth and essence” to the production.
As a gamer, I’ve noticed that the hype surrounding this game’s sequel has been met with some varying opinions. For instance, IGN, which is known for its in-depth reviews, mentioned that while the movie wasn’t an absolute pain to watch, the journey was far from seamless. Instead, it seemed more like a bumpy ride, filled with ups and downs, leaving me questioning if the experience was truly worthwhile.
