As a long-time admirer of Aussie music royalty, I can only imagine the sheer excitement and nostalgia that Daryl Braithwaite must have felt when he was invited to perform with the charismatic Harry Styles. Having grown up listening to Daryl’s iconic hits like “The Horses,” it’s mind-boggling to think that I would one day witness such a collaboration.
Aussie music legend Daryl Braithwaite has revealed what it was like working with Harry Styles.
75-year-old singer-known for hits about horses, expressed to The Daily Telegraph on Sunday that collaborating with Harry (aged 30) last year was an exhilarating experience.
Last year during his Australian tour, Harry Styles brought Daryl onto the stage at Sydney’s Accor Stadium to perform “The Horses” together.
Daryl expressed that it was an exciting moment, one of only a few he’s experienced throughout the years, as it happened unexpectedly, with just 24-hour notice.
I personally attended his concert in Melbourne, which felt incredibly strange since I was part of the audience with a companion. We simply stood there, and before he took the stage, they performed The Horses.
As the crowd began to recognize me, they whispered among themselves, “Aren’t I familiar with him?” Being from Melbourne, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of pride as I continued my performance.
Immediately following their joint performance, Daryl expressed gratitude towards Harry on Facebook for the ‘remarkable encounter’.
He posted a precious photo of the pair giving peace signs to the camera while they posed up a storm backstage at the event.

He shared that he’d had a truly remarkable encounter. His appreciation goes out to everyone who offered kind words during that time, he stated.
Harry, I really appreciated the fun and joy we had together when we sang ‘The Horses.’ Your amazing team was a part of that too,” he said, adding to it.
Daryl’s fans were quick to gush over the sweet photo.
One fan expressed, ‘What a fortunate encounter Harry had meeting a musically gifted artist like yourself.’ Another remarked, ‘It was truly delightful to witness you performing alongside Harry on stage.’
During the second concert of his Sydney tour at Accor Stadium, the renowned British artist invited a legendary Australian singer up onto the stage.

Before starting to perform Daryl’s famous song “Horses,” the musicians hugged each other and then sang together in harmony, alternating verses.
The crowd burst into applause as the men put on a show, fully comprehending that they were witnessing history unfold in real time.
The Accor Stadium Twitter account expressed it as a “Memorable Moment in the History of Australian Entertainment!
Additionally, Harry gave praise to Braithwaite by performing a tribute to his song “Horses” during his concert in Melbourne on the 21st of February.
Originally, the main singer from Sherbet returned the favor by performing “Watermelon Sugar” at his Sydney concert just three days afterwards.
