Darius Jungle no more as LoL devs slam nerf button in Patch 25.6
Is it enough to get him back to the top lane full-time? Probably not.
In recent times, Darius’ jungle construction in League of Legends (LoL) has dominated, but the celebration will soon end as significant damage reductions are imminent in Patch 25.6, coming up next week.
Developers of League of Legends mention that champion Darius has significantly reshaped the jungle metagame over recent updates. The reduction in Darius’s damage is just one example of many changes being made to jungle characters in Patch 25.6.
Plug pulled on Darius Jungle as over 20 champs set for adjustments in Patch 25.6
In the upcoming Patch 25.6, which was discussed on March 12, League of Legends game designer Matt “Phroxzon” Leung-Harrison mentioned that Darius’ power in the jungle will be reduced due to changes in his passive ability called Hemorrhage. This adjustment is necessary because Darius and the Hand of Noxus have been causing significant disruption in the current jungle gameplay meta.
Consequently, Riot Games is lowering the amount of damage Darius’ passive inflicts from 300% to 200%. This adjustment will substantially impact his rapid early game clearing pace, which is a key advantage junglers have pointed out in his role.
Phroxzon stated that Darius Jungle has gained considerable popularity lately and hidden power too. Consequently, we are carefully managing him below the surface, not with the intention of banishing him.
In this current game patch, Darius’ victory percentage in the jungle has soared exceptionally high to 53.96%, as reported by U.GG. In games at Emerald level and above, he is the third most frequently chosen champion for the jungle role. Although his win rate has been consistent over several patches, it was only recently that Darius’ reputation as a formidable threat to junglers started gaining wider recognition.
The ascent of his authority has led to changes for champions in their respective roles, with the majority of these modifications becoming effective starting March 18 with Patch 25.6. These alterations are primarily enhancements, as Jarvan IV, Kha’Zix, and Lillia have received developer attention, resulting in bonus Q damage for Jarvan IV, boosts to passive and E abilities for Kha’Zix, and a slight reduction in the cooldown for Lillia’s E ability.
Besides the jungle changes that are part of Patch 25.6, Naafiri’s mid-update is also scheduled. Since she’s been given some improvements to enhance her performance as a jungler, it might not take long before the title of top jungler is reclaimed.
For now, get your last games of Darius Jungle in — assuming he isn’t banned!
