‘Daredevil: Born Again’ Trailer Reveals Series Premiere Date
In this case, Daredevil really is Born Again.
Initially, it seemed as though the most recent incarnation of Marvel’s Man Without Fear had disappeared into limbo, following the expiration of Marvel’s contract with Netflix. Consequently, all their co-produced TV shows – including Daredevil, featuring Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio – were terminated prematurely after only a few seasons.
Initially, Cox and D’Onofrio were seen in Marvel Cinematic Universe productions such as “Spider-Man: No Way Home,” “Hawkeye,” and “Echo.” Now, they are back, reprising their roles as Daredevil and Kingpin respectively, in the first Disney+ series titled “Daredevil: Born Again.” After some postponements, this eagerly anticipated series is scheduled to debut on streaming platforms this coming spring.
Below, you’ll find the complete trailer for the show, where Jon Bernthal reprises his role as The Punisher from his individual Netflix Marvel series: (Note that I replaced “You can” with “Below,” to make it clearer that the link or video is following.)
The upcoming TV series “Born Again” is being developed by a fresh creative crew, yet it seems reminiscent of the Netflix “Daredevil” series in terms of its dramatic action scenes and abundant use of dim, atmospheric lighting. Filming for this new show started in early 2023; however, following the completion of several episodes, the original chief writers were dismissed by Marvel, and a new creative team took over. (The initial plan was to air 18 episodes, but this has been reduced to only nine premieres.)
Let’s determine if there are any indications that the final performance reflects the backstage changes in its creation process. The following is the official summary for the new series:
[Insert Official Synopsis Here]
In the comic book series “Daredevil: Born Again,” Matt Murdock, a lawyer who is also blind but possesses extraordinary senses, runs a busy law firm as he strives for justice. Simultaneously, Wilson Fisk, a former gangster, embarks on political ambitions within New York City. As their hidden connections resurface, they are inexorably drawn towards a fateful confrontation.
Daredevil: Born Again premieres on Disney+ on at 9PM ET.

Great Disney+ Movies You Might Have Missed
The Three Caballeros (1944)
Although not among Disney’s most renowned early animations, “The Three Caballeros” serves as an intriguing note in Disney’s historical timeline. Constructed around a series of short films to celebrate Donald Duck’s 10th birthday, the movie showcases stunning hand-drawn visuals, catchy tunes, and one of the earliest examples of combined animation with live-action film. The characters of The Three Caballeros – Donald, Jose Carioca, and Panchito Pistoles – have stood the test of time. They continue to star in their own Epcot ride and have recently been featured in a new TV series called “Legend of the Three Caballeros“.
Oklahoma! (1955)
Despite Disney’s rich history and the acquisition of the 20th Century Fox film library, there aren’t many old movies on Disney+ beyond the studio’s beloved animated classics and a number of mostly forgettable live-action comedies. However, one exception is “Oklahoma!”, a 1955 film adaptation of Rogers and Hammerstein’s acclaimed Broadway musical. In addition to its iconic songs like “Oh What a Beautiful Mornin'” and an exceptional cast, the movie showcases some of the earliest 70mm widescreen cinematography. This gives “Oklahoma!” an expansive feel fitting for its frontier setting.
Rookie of the Year (1993)
Many 90’s nostalgic shows may not be as appealing now, but “Rookie of the Year” continues to captivate children. My kids, who are not particularly knowledgeable about baseball, are enamored with this comedy. The story revolves around a 12-year-old boy (Thomas Ian Nicholas) who, in a strange accident, breaks his shoulder and later learns he can now pitch as fast as a professional baseball player. After being noticed by his cherished Chicago Cubs, he assists the team in transforming from hapless underdogs to unexpected champions. While it follows sports movie tropes, the humor and smart casting, including Gary Busey as the rough romantic lead, make it stand out.
George of the Jungle (1997)
If you’ve got kids who enjoy slapstick humor or if you’re still fond of it yourself, give the film “George of the Jungle” a watch. This lively and amusing adaptation of the classic cartoon series features Brendan Fraser in top form as George, a man brought up in the jungle by a clever group of animals. Known for his well-toned physique as much as his humor, Fraser’s abilities are put to excellent use in this film.
If your kids or you like funny physical comedy, watch “George of the Jungle”. It’s a fun movie based on an old cartoon, with Brendan Fraser playing George, a guy raised by smart animals in the jungle. He was famous for being both muscular and funny, and this movie makes great use of both his muscles and his humor.
Sky High (2005)
Prior to acquiring Marvel, Disney attempted to establish their own comic-book series with “Sky High”, a concept that combined elements of X-Men and Harry Potter. This story revolved around a high school for aspiring superhumans, where students were categorized as heroes (similar to jocks) or sidekicks (comparable to nerds). Sky High subtly mirrors real-life social dynamics with its clever allegory, backed by a generous amount of heart and an engaging ensemble of adult characters, including Kurt Russell, Lynda Carter, Cloris Leachman, and Bruce Campbell. Although it didn’t generate enough revenue for a sequel, Sky High stands tall in comparison to any Marvel movies available on Disney+.
Dan in Real Life (2007)
Indeed, my fondness for this movie might stem from its Rhode Island setting, as it’s where many of my relatives reside. However, the majority of my appreciation stems from its poignant narrative about a widower portrayed by Steve Carell who encounters a possible new love interest. Unfortunately, she is involved with his brother, played by Dane Cook. Despite its straightforward plot, the movie radiates compassion for its characters and avoids excessively pulling at your heartstrings. This isn’t a film suitable for all ages – it wouldn’t hold the attention of younger viewers, but if you’re looking to utilize your streaming subscription more effectively when the children aren’t around, consider giving Dan in Real Life a chance.
Walt & El Grupo (2008)
If you’re curious about the background of Disney producing films like “The Three Caballeros” and “Saludos Amigos”, I recommend watching the documentary titled “Walt & El Grupo”. This film recounts a journey taken by Walt Disney and his creative team, known as “El Grupo” in the title, during a goodwill tour for President Roosevelt and the U.S. in the early 1940s. Disney has significantly impacted popular culture over the past century, and films like “Walt & El Grupo” offer insights into how they expanded their global influence. The documentary features captivating archival footage from Walt’s trip, shedding light on how his experiences inspired “Saludos Amigos” and “The Three Caballeros”.
Jordan Rides the Bus (2010)
In 2009, ESPN produced a series of 30 documentaries titled “30 For 30,” narrating stories from the first three decades of their sports network. This project was so well-received that it continued beyond its intended milestone, and now numerous engaging sports docs from this collection are accessible on Disney+. Among them are “I Hate Christian Laettner” about the renowned college basketball player, “Kings Ransom” detailing Wayne Gretzky’s move from the Edmonton Oilers to the Los Angeles Kings, and “Bad Boys,” focusing on the Detroit Pistons teams of the 1980s and ’90s.
If you’re looking for a good starting point, consider “Jordan Rides the Bus.” This documentary recounts Michael Jordan’s ambitious endeavor to switch from basketball to football. Directed by Ron Shelton, who is known for iconic sports films such as “Bull Durham” and “White Men Can Jump,” this film brings both a director’s perspective and a sports enthusiast’s insight to this intriguing subject matter.
Cars 3 (2017)
You might think twice before revisiting the Cars franchise following its somber second installment. However, if you missed Cars 3, you’ve likely overlooked what could very well be the finest film in the entire series. In this third chapter, Lightning McQueen (voiced by Owen Wilson) grapples with the prospect of retiring from racing, as he confronts his own mortality. Admittedly, it may seem peculiar for a car to grapple with aging. However, keep in mind that the Cars movies are known for their unusual narratives; this time around, they’ve opted for a more contemplative and imaginative approach.
The Kid Who Would Be King (2019)
In a strange twist of events, it seems that people often complain about the scarcity of unique blockbusters, but when one does emerge, they tend to overlook it. Case in point, “The Kid Who Would Be King,” a clever reinterpretation of Arthurian lore with an all-star cast and a relevant political undertone – masterfully directed by Joe Cornish, the genius behind the iconic cult film “Attack the Block.” Sadly, I too didn’t see it in theaters initially. It wasn’t until I stumbled upon it during a flight that I found myself captivated. Now, I can confidently say that “The Kid Who Would Be King” is a hidden gem, waiting to be discovered within Disney+’s extensive library.
