The second season of Daredevil: Born Again will introduce something new to the story that wasn’t seen in the original Netflix Defenders series. Following discussions that established the Netflix Defenders shows as official parts of the larger Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), the show can now incorporate any characters or storylines Marvel Studios has available. This means Born Again will finally feature a long-awaited interaction between characters, something fans have been hoping for since before the events of the Multiverse Saga.
The upcoming season of Daredevil: Born Again will be the first time two Marvel superheroes team up within the Daredevil storyline. Krysten Ritter will return as Jessica Jones, marking her first appearance as the character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe since her show concluded on Netflix in 2019.
In the second season of Daredevil, Charlie Cox’s Daredevil teamed up with Elodie Yung’s Elektra Natchios. Their alliance didn’t last, as Elektra was revealed to be working with the dangerous group known as The Hand, and she eventually died. Throughout the season, she acted more as a villain than a hero, and never quite established herself as a force for good.

A key part of that season was the uneasy alliance between Daredevil and Jon Bernthal’s Punisher, a character who would later return in Daredevil: Born Again. Frank Castle initially clashed with Matt Murdock, acting as an antagonist before developing into a more complex anti-hero, though their differing approaches to justice always kept them at odds. Because of this, the upcoming team-up between Daredevil and Jessica Jones in Born Again Season 2 will mark the first time Matt Murdock has partnered with a traditional superhero.

The popular Daredevil story, which originally appeared on Netflix as part of the Defenders Saga, is getting a second season titled Daredevil: Born Again. Charlie Cox will return as Daredevil, along with Vincent D’Onofrio, Deborah Ann Woll, Jon Bernthal, and Krysten Ritter. The new season will be set in New York City, where Wilson Fisk imposes martial law, forcing Daredevil to go into hiding. Fans can expect Daredevil: Born Again to premiere on Disney+ in March 2026.
What To Expect From Daredevil/Jessica Jones Team-up in Daredevil: Born Again

Although Marvel hasn’t officially shown the first trailer for Daredevil: Born Again Season 2, they did preview a short clip at New York Comic-Con in 2025. Krysten Ritter also gave fans a glimpse of her character, Jessica Jones, from the trailer on social media.
The new trailer for NYCC hinted at Jessica Jones reuniting with Matt Murdock, her former teammate from the Netflix series The Defenders, after many years apart. The trailer also included brief scenes of Jessica in action, demonstrating she’s still a skilled fighter since her last appearance in 2019.
At New York Comic Con, Marvel’s head of television, Brad Winderbaum, discussed Jessica Jones’s role in the upcoming Born Again series. He explained that she’ll be helping Matt Murdock build a team to oppose Wilson Fisk. Winderbaum also hinted at some unexpected twists and changes for her character, while assuring fans that her core personality will remain consistent.
Although her exact part in the show remains a secret, she’s anticipated to be a key figure in the fight against Fisk as he strengthens his control over New York City.
