The upcoming season of Daredevil: Born Again will have an unusual release schedule. Marvel Studios previously decided against a two-episode premiere for Season 1, and that plan is still in effect for Season 2. However, the studio has announced a new change that will make one week especially exciting for fans of the show.
Just before the premiere of Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 on Disney+, Marvel Studios revealed how the season’s episodes would be released. In a surprise move, Episodes 2 and 3 will both drop on Tuesday, March 31st, instead of the previously planned weekly releases. This means viewers will get a double dose of the show in its second week.
Marvel Studios also announced that a one-hour special called The Punisher: One Last Kill, featuring Jon Bernthal as the Punisher, will air right after the finale of Born Again Season 2, just one week later.
- Tuesday, March 24 – Episode 1, “The Northern Star”
- Tuesday, March 31 – Episode 2, “Shoot the Moon” AND Episode 3, “The Scales & the Sword”
- Tuesday, April 7 – Episode 4, “Gloves Off”
- Tuesday, April 14 – Episode 5, “The Grand Design”
- Tuesday, April 21 – Episode 6, “Requiem”
- Tuesday, April 28 – Episode 7, “The Hateful Darkness”
- Tuesday, May 5 – Episode 8, “The Southern Cross”
- Tuesday, May 12 – A Marvel Television Special Presentation: The Punisher: One Last Kill

Okay, so Marvel’s playing things a little differently. They’ve slotted The Punisher: One Last Kill right into the release schedule for Born Again. As a viewer, I think it’s a smart move to keep the momentum going. This new special presentation will drop on Disney+ on May 12th, just a week after Born Again wraps up its second season on May 5th with the episode “The Southern Cross.” It feels like a nice extension of that universe, and I’m curious to see how it connects.

Why Daredevil: Born Again Season 2‘s Release Schedule Change Was Genius
The recent shift in how Season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again was released might have been caused by initial feedback from critics. Although most reviewers generally liked the season, some, like Brandon Davis, pointed out that it begins slowly and that the first few episodes are just average.
Davis hinted that Episode 3 will be a wild ride with no slowing down, suggesting it was a good move to ramp up the excitement early in the second week of Born Again to keep viewers engaged. It’s hard to predict exactly what will happen, but it sounds like Season 2 of Born Again is about to take a dramatically unexpected turn.
Viewers now know the titles of all eight episodes of Born Again Season 2. The season begins with an episode called “The Northern Star” and concludes with “The Southern Cross.” This pairing of opposite directions hints at major changes throughout the season, as Wilson Fisk (Kingpin) starts with control of New York, but Daredevil’s resistance may ultimately turn the tables.
The inclusion of The Punisher: One Last Kill on the release schedule for Born Again hints at a link to the show’s second season. Although Jon Bernthal won’t be returning as Frank Castle in Born Again Season 2, One Last Kill could serve as a concluding story, detailing his actions during the events of the New York conflict.
