Daredevil: Born Again looks like a thrilling return to form in huge new Marvel trailer
As a longtime Marvel fan with over two decades of comic book reading under my belt, I must admit that the latest trailer from Disney+ has left me both excited and slightly apprehensive. On one hand, the sheer volume of content promised is staggering – we’re talking about shows and movies spanning from next month to well into 2025! This is a testament to Marvel’s commitment to its ever-growing universe, but it also brings back memories of being overwhelmed by too much content in the past.
Here’s my attempt at paraphrasing: I just got a sneak peek at the latest Marvel trailer, showcasing clips from upcoming TV series (plus one movie) set to hit Disney+. Check it out right here!
I’d like to start by discussing the upcoming release dates for Marvel content on Disney+. Here’s what you can expect until the end of next year:
- Deadpool & Wolverine streaming release: November 12, 2024
- What If…? season 3: December 22
- Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man: January 29, 2025
- Daredevil: Born Again: March 4
- Ironheart: June 24
- Eyes of Wakanda: August 6
- Marvel Zombies: October 2025
- Wonder Man: December 2025
It’s quite clear that Marvel is facing accusations of producing too much content, and this trend doesn’t seem to be changing. However, their recent show, “Agatha All Along“, has been an enjoyable watch, so I choose to stay hopeful.
Additionally, some of the series teased in the trailer appear quite compelling or at least intriguing to me. At the forefront of my personal preference is Daredevil: Born Again, a reboot of the Netflix show Daredevil, featuring actors such as Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio reprising their roles as Matt Murdock and Wilson Fisk respectively. The prospect of watching these characters on screen together again, with Daredevil once more delivering hard-hitting justice, is exhilarating, even after the conclusion of the original series.
In addition, we catch our first formal view of the character Ironheart, starring Dominique Thorne as Riri Williams, a young inventor who constructs her own suit similar to Iron Man’s for combat purposes. The most intriguing element undeniably seems to be Wonder Man, a relatively unknown Marvel superhero endowed with ionic abilities. Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, known for his role in Watchmen, appears to be vying for the part of Wonder Man in this new series, which leads us to speculate if they’re planning a self-referential approach. Lastly, Ben Kingsley reprises his role as Trevor Slattery, a washed-up actor. So, could you tell me what this series is about?
Furthermore, we catch a peek at the upcoming seasons of the animated series “What If…?”, the spinoff show “Marvel Zombies”, the animated “Black Panther” spinoff titled “Eyes of Wakanda”, and a new animated series for “Spider-Man” named “Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man”. Marvel continues to be bustling with activity.
