Before Thanksgiving, Danny Trejo spent time volunteering at the LA Mission, offering encouragement and support to families in need.
The 81-year-old Hollywood vet told TMZ: ‘The more I can do for people, the better my life gets.’
Speaking to those impacted by the recent ICE raids in Los Angeles, he encouraged them to remain hopeful and support each other, offering help to anyone in need.
The actor shared an update on his health, mentioning he recently had knee replacement surgery and is recovering well. He said, ‘I’m doing good. I had my knee fixed.’
He explained that his faith helps him feel better, especially after a serious illness where he nearly died. Knowing God is watching over him gives him comfort and strength.
This follows an incident earlier this year where the actor had to clarify a false rumor about his death. He posted on Instagram, ‘Thank you for your concern, but I’m still alive and well.’

He added, ‘Someone is spreading fake news.’
The rumor that Danny Trejo had passed away started when his former co-star, John Leguizamo, posted ‘R.I.P.’ on Instagram, reacting to a fake report from Polonia News dated August 19th.
In October, he reassured fans about his health after being seen in a wheelchair at the Toronto airport with his son, Gilbert, age 37.
Later that month he was back on his feet as he walked into his Trejo’s Cantina in Hollywood.
While at a World Series viewing party, a TMZ reporter asked him how he was doing. He responded with a simple, ‘Everything is beautiful.’
Danny Trejo highlighted his show, Mysteries Unearthed, which recently returned for a new season on the History Channel.
He mentioned he was preparing to film something for the History Channel and expected to appear on the network this month.
He acknowledged people are understandably anxious right now, but suggested that focusing on helping others can be a powerful way to cope. He explained that taking action for someone else often lifts your own spirits and makes things feel better.

It’s been 22 years since Danny Trejo appeared as a guest on John Leguizamo’s Nickelodeon show, The Brothers García.
Both individuals received awards at the 40th annual Imagen Awards on August 22nd in Beverly Hills. The ceremony, which celebrates Latino representation, was broadcast on PBS on October 1st.
Trejo received the award for Best Variety/Reality Show for his History Channel series, Mysteries Unearthed. John Leguizamo, who wasn’t present, won Best Actor for his performance in the movie Bob Trevino Likes It.
I’ve been following everything he’s been up to, and it’s been great to see him so active lately! He recently held a meet-and-greet and a concert for his label, Trejo’s Music, at the Regent Theater in LA on August 30th, and it was a fantastic event.
He previously attended a 15th-anniversary screening of the film Machete at Vidiots in Los Angeles, along with screenwriter Álvaro Rodríguez.
