As a child of the ’90s, I can’t help but feel a wave of nostalgia when I hear about a potential sequel to the iconic British coming-of-age drama, “Human Traffic.” Danny Dyer‘s portrayal of Moff in the original film was nothing short of legendary, and his recent hints at a potential sequel have me dancing on my chair with excitement.
Human Traffic star Danny Dyer has teased a potential sequel to the 1999 cult classic.
This British coming-of-age movie, helmed by Justin Kerrigan, narrates the story of five companions navigating their interpersonal conflicts and internal struggles over a party-filled weekend in Cardiff, exploring their friendships and personal issues.
Lately, during an episode of his fresh podcast titled “Live and Let Dyers“, along with his daughter Dani, Dyer subtly suggested that his character Moff might reappear if there’s a possible sequel to the movie “Human Traffic“.
He expressed his great pride in the movie, saying, “It could very well be, dear audience members, especially for those of you who were around during the rave era – yes, I’m talking to you, veterans – that there may be a sequel to ‘Human Traffic’.
Speaking about the impact of the movie “Human Traffic” on his life after its release in 1999, the ex-actor from “EastEnders” shared: “Well, it was like a revelation! I managed to demonstrate that I could be part of a film, and I showed that I could take on a significant role.
“And I had the best character in it, the most hedonistic.”
He continued: “And it did really well. It did really well, this film. People really got it. It really captured that last year of the ’90s, because the ’90s is such a mad decade anyway, and it really captured that f**king spirit, that energy.”
Recently, Dyer could be spotted in the latest Disney 80’s comedy-romp titled “Rivals“. He characterized his role as a significant departure from his usual comfort zone.
In the upcoming British comedy “Marching Powder,” directed by Nick Love, he will appear as a football hooligan who loves drugs. He is arrested and has only six weeks to change his ways drastically to avoid incarceration.
Marching Powder is set to be released in UK and Irish cinemas in 2025.
