Danny DeVito’s Heartwarming Revelation About His Greatest Role Will Leave You in Tears!

Over the past five decades, he’s collaborated with many prominent directors in cinema, and his performances in numerous unforgettable characters have earned him recognition.

But Danny DeVito has finally revealed what he considers his greatest role to date.

On Sunday, AARP posted a touching video where the venerable actor of 80 years, in his own words, expressed how his latest role as a grandfather significantly changed his life.

Over the past two years, both of his daughters have given birth to children. Since then, he has become impossible to correct or change, as he admitted in the heartwarming video.

DeVito and his long-time partner Rhea Perlman (who they separated from in 2017 but continue to maintain a friendly relationship) are parents to two daughters, Lucy, aged 41, and Grace, aged 39, as well as son Jacob, aged 37.

He said, “I need to tone down my excitement a bit,” he joked, implying, “I’m simply over-the-top.

David expressed his gratitude excitedly, saying, “I feel incredibly fortunate as good fortune seems to keep coming my way,” followed by, “I hope the same happiness finds everyone.

In the year 2023, Grace and her spouse Andy Giannakakis announced the birth of their daughter, Sinclair Lucille DeVito. Interestingly, they decided to retain the surname ‘DeVito’ for their child, despite the fact that Grace doesn’t share her last name with her husband.

In February 2024, Lucy showcased her growing belly at the SAG Awards red carpet event. Later in July of the same year, she and her partner joyously welcomed their newborn son, whom they named Carmine.

In a longer interview available on YouTube, DeVito shared that he fervently wished he could spend more time with his grandkids who are still young.

He put it simply, “The old saying goes, ‘A pot left unattended will never boil.’ In the same vein, I keep a close eye on my kids. I don’t want them to rush or ‘boil over.’ Instead, I hope they’ll develop and grow at their own pace.

He was adamant that his children should follow the same strategy.

Make sure not to blink or turn your gaze away, for if you do, that child will undoubtedly be spinning a hula hoop,” he pointed out.

One commenter expressed their delight by saying something along the lines of: ‘It’s as if hitting the jackpot, if Danny DeVito were your grandpa.’

‘Know just how you feel. They are the bomb,’ agreed another person.

One admirer exclaimed how delightful he is, while another pointed out humorously that despite his gruff exterior, he actually has a gentle nature – which is true.

DeVito emphasized that his family is a crucial and integral part of his life, following his appearance in the joint episode of It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia and Abbott Elementary, a hit comedy series.

Regardless of the twists and turns your life takes, what truly matters is having a strong support system made up of family and friends, he emphasized. These are the essential pillars in our lives – trustworthy individuals we can confide in and share our deepest thoughts with. I consider myself incredibly lucky. Fortune has been generous to me, and I hope that same blessing finds its way to everyone else.

As a connoisseur of all things lifestyle-related, I can confidently say that Danny DeVito has graced our screens with an array of unforgettable characters. From embodying the cunning villain Oswald Cobblepot (a.k.a. the Penguin) in Tim Burton’s timeless masterpiece Batman Returns, to bringing life to Frank Reynolds on It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia and the sharp-tongued Louie De Palma on Taxi, his versatility as an actor is truly remarkable.

Apart from being a skilled actor, he is renowned as a versatile director, having steered movies such as “Throw Momma From The Train,” “The War Of The Roses,” and “Matilda.” Interestingly, he was not only the director but also featured in these films himself. Moreover, he has directed numerous episodes for television as well.

Regardless of his extensive film career spanning many years and the multiple classic films he’s been part of, DeVito has never received a nomination for an acting award from the Academy Awards.

Nevertheless, his distinguished career as a movie producer led him to be nominated for Best Picture in 2001 for Steven Soderbergh’s drama Erin Brockovich. However, this Julia Roberts-led film didn’t win the award; instead, it was Soderbergh’s other production from that year, Traffic, that took home the prize.
