As a seasoned gamer with a soft spot for movies that delve deep into character development and relationships, I eagerly anticipate the UK release of “Queer” starring Daniel Craig. Having played numerous games where character interactions are just as crucial as the gameplay itself, my interest in intricate narratives and complex characters is well-established.
Daniel Craig’s anticipated new movie Queer has confirmed a UK release.
The latest film, hailing from the acclaimed director Luca Guadagnino (of “Challengers”), has just made its debut at the Venice Film Festival, receiving positive critic feedback.
The movie is set to hit UK cinemas, as streaming platform and distributor Mubi has secured its release and has also obtained distribution rights for Latin America, Germany, Italy, Turkey, Canada, the Netherlands, India, and other regions.

A release date is yet to be announced, so watch this space.
The story “Queer” originates from a 1985 novel written by William S Burroughs, and it revolves around Craig’s expatriate character named William Lee. As the narrative unfolds in Mexico City, William finds himself developing a deep affection for the younger Gene Alterton, portrayed by Drew Starkey.
As a dedicated cinema enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share that I’ll be working alongside Justin Kuritzkes, the brilliant writer from “Challengers,” once more in this upcoming film. Notably, Jason Schwartzman, who charmed us all in “Asteroid City,” and Lesley Manville, a standout from “The Crown,” will also grace our screens in this production.
More recently, Craig shared insights into his experience filming intimate scenes for the movie, stating that his aim was to make them appear genuine and authentic.

During the film’s release last month, he emphasized that shooting a sex scene on a movie set is far from an intimate experience. He explained, “It’s a large group of people observing you. Our goal was to create something as tender, authentic, and genuine as possible.
“Drew is an exceptional, delightful, and captivating actor to collaborate with. There was a lot of laughter on set as we strived to keep things enjoyable.
Sharing details about our collaboration, the actor mentioned, “Twenty years back, Guadagnino and I crossed paths and expressed a shared desire to team up. Finally, that dream became a reality.
Given that I’m not already part of this film, I’d love to join its cast if I were an audience member. This is exactly the type of movie I’d enjoy watching and creating myself – I aspire for it to be widely available.
The release date for “Queer” has not been officially announced yet, but it will make its debut in the United Kingdom during the BFI London Film Festival.
