Daniel Craig’s new movie Queer confirms streaming release date
Daniel Craig’s new movie Queer has confirmed a streaming release date in the UK.
The movie, helmed by Luca Guadagnino and adapted from the semi-autobiographical novel of William S. Burroughs, focuses on Lee, an American expatriate in 1940s Mexico City, who develops a strong affection for Eugene, a former soldier portrayed by Drew Starkey.
After hitting the big screen last month, it has been officially announced that viewers in the United Kingdom and Ireland can start streaming the movie “Queer” on Mubi as of January 31st.
As a passionate viewer myself, I’m excited to share that here in the US, you can either purchase or lease the movie “Queer” on Amazon Prime Video, iTunes, and various other digital platforms. Enjoy your watch!
Following its debut at the Venice Film Festival in September, the movie “Queer” initially received a strong rating of 78% on Rotten Tomatoes. However, this score has experienced a slight decrease since then and currently stands at 77%, based on more than 200 reviews.
The site’s critical consensus states: “A captivating blend of William S. Burroughs’ themes, which at times wanders but remains vibrant, Queer showcases one of Daniel Craig’s finest performances.
As I eagerly await the UK premiere of “Queer,” I can’t help but share my thoughts on the film’s thought-provoking finale. Just like many others, I find myself pondering over Lee and Eugene’s journey and how their lives are irrevocably altered following their adventure into the jungle, a trip that has left us all questioning their relationship and future prospects.
As a gamer, I’d rephrase that as: “Despite some things being left unfinished due to the book not being completely written, Oliver Harris, the editor of William Burroughs’ new edition of ‘Queer’, expressed his belief the other night that it might not actually be incomplete.” (I told Digital Spy this.)
He believes that was Burroughs’ intention: to leave you with a sense of emptiness and a question – “What’s next?” – at the end of the book, which reflects the feeling he wants you to experience.
The movie “Queer” can be streamed in the UK and Ireland starting from January 31st on Mubi. For viewers in the US, the film is accessible for purchase or rental via Amazon Prime Video, iTunes, and other platforms.
