The 2024 film, adapted from William S. Burroughs’ 1985 book of the same name, stars James Bond actor Daniel Craig as William Lee. The story follows Lee’s journey to Mexico City, where he develops a strong attraction to Eugene Allerton, played by Drew Starkey.
The new romantic drama is directed by Luca Guadagnino and written by Justin Kuritzkes. It features a strong supporting cast, including Jason Schwartzman (known for Asteroid City), David Lowery, and Omar Apollo.

Craig received Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild Award nominations for his acting, and he previously discussed the movie’s themes in an interview with Digital Spy.
He explained that the book’s unfinished state creates a specific effect. The feeling of emptiness and uncertainty it leaves you with at the end is intentional – he wants readers to feel that sense of ‘What happens now?’
