Daniel Craig and Rachel Weisz’s former NYC neighbor spills secrets of living below the private couple

A previous resident near Daniel Craig and Rachel Weisz has been sharing insights into life alongside the famously private pair.

A week ago, blogger Ilana Wiles posted a TikTok video where she disclosed that she once resided in the same apartment complex as the 57-year-old actor formerly known as James Bond, along with The Mummy actress who is 55 years old.

In her post, she mentioned that her upstairs neighbor is famous, as she participated in the #holyairball challenge on the clip.

The idea, sparked by a popular meme related to basketball, has lately gained widespread attention as prominent social media personalities disclosed common misunderstandings about their past, following which they displayed an impressive accomplishment.

She detailed numerous interactions they had with the influential duo throughout the years, then characterized Craig as a chatty individual and commended Weisz for her youthful charm.

In response to her remark, she typed, ‘A bit like a Hollywood Star, isn’t she?’ Later, she revealed an image that showcased a surprising turn of events involving well-known film personalities.

In her post’s description, the social media personality stated: ‘Just want to clarify that we no longer reside in that place, but for a decade, it was the apartment above ours. I always have positive sentiments towards them.’

Craig and Weisz own numerous properties, not just in New York City, but also worldwide. Among these is a $6 million penthouse located in an East Village building where Wiles resided before, as hinted in her social media post, according to Realtor.com’s report.

They lived there for seven years before selling the property in 2019. 

In a previous post on her Substack platform, Wiles casually mentioned that she and her husband Mike reside under the same roof as the renowned and notoriously secretive couple whom everyone knows. She also recounted what she considered her ‘best celebrity anecdote’ from May 2022.

I’d like to clarify something to my followers: Mike wasn’t our close friends, nor did they drop by for a cup of sugar or any other reason. However, I do remember an instance when Mike went out of his way to help Rachel carry her groceries up fifteen floors during a power outage. That act of kindness was certainly worth sharing!

In actuality, Rachel appears to be 27 years old, just so you’re aware. Additionally, I’ve had several encounters with Daniel in elevators during those years, and so have many of my friends and family who visited frequently.

She went on to say: ‘Can you imagine being secluded with James Bond for a brief spell?’ She described her experience as incredibly bizarre and out of the ordinary, being in the company of the renowned British actor.

She also described the actor as an extremely talkative person.

‘Daniel Craig’s eyes literally sparkle at you like the opening sequence of Dexter,’ she recalled.

He could be genuinely sociable and enjoy casual chats, or he initiates conversations as a playful way of teasing others.

As a die-hard fan, I can’t help but reminisce about an incident involving my idols, Craig and Weisz. One day, in a bold move, my husband approached their penthouse, intrigued by the scaffolding that had invaded their once-beautiful skyline view – a view we used to share from our very own apartment. He knocked on their door, eagerly inquiring about the construction that was causing us such distress.

She recalled how kind the couple were and added that ‘celebrities are just like us.’ 

Mike learns that Daniel Craig acknowledges the trouble we’re experiencing and is eager to have the scaffolding removed as well.

She stated that he believes the construction workers are intentionally prolonging their work beyond what’s needed, just to keep billing excessively. In essence, it appears to be a scam.

In simpler terms, ‘Celebrities, it seems, aren’t so different from ordinary people! According to her, Daniel Craig mentioned he would try to find a way and Mike simply departed.’

The next day, Wiles informed them that the scaffolding had been removed. To their astonishment, they were given a bottle of champagne along with a heartfelt apology letter from Craig and Weisz, expressing their regret for any trouble caused.

Wiles wrote: ‘And that’s my favorite NYC celebrity story!’
