Daniel Bisogno, longtime host of Mexico’s ‘Ventaneando,’ dies at 51

On Thursday, it was reported on Instagram that Bisogno passed away due to issues arising from a liver transplant he underwent in September, according to a television program.

Daniel Bisogno’s cohost, Pati Chapoy, announced his passing on X via Twitter in Spanish, saying, “With profound sadness, I share that #Daniel Bisogno has passed away.” On Friday, many of his coworkers gathered for a memorial service where they reminisced about their experiences with the TV host.

In 1997, a year following its debut, the gossip program “Ventaneando” (or “Window Shopping”) welcomed Bisogno. He’s also appeared on stage in the musical “Lagunilla, Mi Barrio” and starred in films such as “Fieras Contra Fieras,” “Y Nunca Más,” and “El Mas Valiente del Mundo” during the 1980s.

For several years, the TV personality from Mexico City has been frequently hospitalized due to various health problems, as reported by Deadline. Despite his ongoing illness, he phoned in during January to mark “Ventaneando’s” 29th anniversary, expressing that the time spent on this program had been the most marvelous years of his life.

He expressed that the most wonderful aspect of his life has encompassed all experiences, positive and negative, and for the most part, these experiences have been extraordinary. He embodied complete joy during that moment. With every fiber of his being, he loved you.

On his visit to the show on February 12, Alejandro, his brother, shared a health update, explaining to Bisogno’s fellow hosts and audience members that he was in a fragile state.

According to El Sol de Mexico, his brother stated that he’s been in a grave state since the transplant operation and hasn’t managed to regain health due to complications. Specifically, he developed an infection in his bile duct following the transplant, which necessitated hemodialysis for detoxifying his system.

Besides his brother, Bisogno also leaves behind his 8-year-old daughter, Michaela, who was born from his previous marriage to Cristina Riva Palacio.
