Dani Dyer Reveals How She Landed Fiancé Jarrod Bowen

Dani Dyer shared insights on how her romantic connection with soccer player fiancé Jarrod Bowen gradually evolved, albeit at a painstakingly slow pace – even though they lived as neighbors and had mutual feelings for each other.

The Love Island celebrity, aged 28, admitted that while she felt a connection with him, she didn’t anticipate the English soccer forward would be open to a deep, lasting romantic commitment.

When they encountered each other, Daniel had just welcomed her baby boy, Santiago, into the world. However, it’s worth noting that Santiago’s father, Sammy Kimmence, was no longer in the picture.

Initially, the Love Island champion Dani shared that as soon as she began having Jarrod over for dinner at her residence, she felt an urgency to make him leave by 10 PM, during their conversations, because she anticipated that Santi might stir her awake early in the morning.

Initially, despite tensions escalating gradually, she continued to signal to West Ham that he might prefer not being with a single mom. Her mother Joanne Mas and ex-EastEnders actor father Danny eventually advised her that she could potentially lose him due to these actions.

In January 2021, influencer Dani welcomed her baby Santiago, followed closely by moving into a house right next door to Jarrod.

Dani mentioned that Jarrod lived next door to her. She had moved into her current home along with Santi, who was still a baby at that time.

‘At that point, people were saying Jarrod Bowen lived nearby, but I wasn’t into football then, I simply had no interest in it.’

Occasionally, I would cross paths with him. Since I knew his routine, I could predict when he was going to play football. Hearing his car depart and backing up, I would respond by taking out the trash, saying to myself, “It’s time for the bins.

I felt confident that I was looking my best when I had a photoshoot scheduled that day. As soon as I inserted the key into the door, he emerged, and I thought to myself, ‘I must be looking great today.’

‘And he said once ‘Have you got a meter reading key?’ Very sexy.

In my perspective, I didn’t give it much thought. When he mentioned his plans to relocate, I simply responded, “I don’t.” Upon hearing this, he shared that he was moving houses, and my reaction was, “Oh, good luck with everything!” As a mom, there are times when I find myself thinking, “I am just a mum,” reflecting on my role in life.

‘And then he messaged me on my birthday, like ‘Happy birthday’. DMs.

‘I just went ‘Thank you’, and then we started chatting and from that day we never stopped speaking.

Initially, when he contacted me, I thought, “He’s quite athletic, I’d be open to some light banter with you, but I’m a mother now. You’re a footballer; go find your Gigi Hadids. However, if you’re interested in having some fun, that would be new for me since you’re the first guy I’ve met with a six-pack.

‘I think because I was so chilled it became something more.’

Reflecting back on our early days together, I must admit there was a time when I felt hesitant about venturing into public as a couple. The uncertainty of how we would be perceived always lingered.

‘He used to come over, we’d have a chat, cook a bit of dinner together, get to know one another.

At around nine-thirty, I’d often find myself saying something like, “Well, I’ll likely wake up by six in the morning, so it’s time for you to head home.” As a diligent follower of my routine, I would express this sentiment.

Initially, I would suggest that he leave. However, following several outings together, despite having gone on three or four dates, he had yet to kiss me.

‘I was like ‘I’m going to have to kiss you at some point, how are we going to do this?’

In our conversations, Santi rarely came up. It was a sensitive topic for me, almost forbidden, so I eventually told him, “Look, I have a kid here, I’m not quite sure of your intentions, but let’s enjoy ourselves.

He replied, “Not at all, I look forward to meeting your son whenever it suits you.

Instead of asking “For me I was like ‘Why? Why do you want that?'”, you could say:

“I found myself wondering ‘What’s the reason behind this desire?'”

“I was thinking to myself ‘Given that you don’t have children, are physically fit, and are thriving professionally, what makes you want to assume the role of a single parent?’

‘There are men that do want to do that, but for me I just didn’t believe it for ages.’

Dani admitted that despite Jarrod’s enthusiasm and the positive progress, she nearly undermined their relationship.

On the Happy Mum Happy Baby podcast, she stated, “I found myself saying something like, ‘You can veer to the right or continue straight ahead – take the left path, not the right one.’ I’m still puzzled as to why I kept guiding him that way.

Eventually, they found themselves saying, “Dan, you’re putting him in a situation where he might be lost. Stop this, he’s eager to compete with you and Santi. He seems content with that, so try to value it instead.

‘And he was. I can’t fault him. He loves Santi like his own. He adores Santi.

‘I remember the first time he was like ‘Can I pick him up?’ ‘

But, as things became serious, Dani still stressed over how Jarrod’s family would feel.

She said: ‘I was like ‘How does his family feel – do they want him to take on someone else’s baby?’

‘Later on I found out that Jarrod’s mum used to vote for me and Jack (Fincham) to win Love Island.

‘She actually said to Jarrod ‘you should try and get with Dani’ – so she manifested us.

Then, I recalled him saying something like “May I have a bottle for him?” His joy at the prospect was palpable. It was at that moment that I found myself thinking, “This is the man.

‘It was so organic. It just happened.’

Dani and Bowen, both aged 28, welcomed twin daughters, Summer and Star, on the 23rd of May. They got engaged in July of the previous year.
