Dani Dyer has spoken out about how upset she is after leaving Strictly Come Dancing so early, telling her fans she’s ‘heartbroken’ by the experience.
The 32-year-old Love Island contestant had to leave the show after breaking her ankle during training last week. She had been paired with Nikita Kuzmin.
In a video posted to Instagram, Dani explained her departure and announced she’s stepping away from social media to sort through everything.
She said: ‘Hi guys, I’m going to try and do this without crying.
‘I am so heartbroken, I have not felt like this in…’
Dani then stopped to compose herself, holding her hand to her mouth as she fought back tears.

She continued: ‘… in such a long time. I was having the best time ever.
‘It’s just a very devastating, annoying kind of thing that I’m going through right now.’
Dani continued: ‘I am probably just going to have a few days off my socials just to process things.
I just want to express my gratitude for all of your support and kindness. I’m truly heartbroken right now.
I have so much love for everyone involved with Strictly, and I’m really going to miss them. I’ll definitely be back to support them when I can, and I just want to say thank you for all the kind messages and support.
Dani, a popular contestant on the show, had to withdraw on Tuesday after breaking her ankle during practice last Friday, according to the Daily Mail.
Dani explained that she injured her ankle during rehearsals on Friday. Initially, she thought it was just a sprain, but after it swelled significantly over the weekend, an MRI revealed a fracture.
It turns out dancing the quickstep with a broken bone wasn’t a good idea! The doctors have told me I can’t dance, so unfortunately I’ve had to withdraw from the show.

I’m absolutely devastated! I’m really going to miss dancing with Nikita, but I’ll definitely be watching and supporting all the other couples.
The accident occurred before Dani even got to perform one routine.
Everyone at work was rooting for Dani to do well in the competition, but unfortunately, it was announced on Tuesday that she had to withdraw.
BBC officials have said they’d like Dani to return to the show next year, acknowledging she’s upset and leaving the possibility open for her to come back to dancing.
This new injury is likely to remind Dani of a similar situation from her first TV show, *Survival Of The Fittest* on ITV2. She also had to leave that show on the first day due to a shoulder injury.
Dani is the second celebrity to drop out of this year’s show before it even begins. Previously, Kristian Nairn, known for his role in Game of Thrones, had to withdraw due to a health issue.
Sarah James, a producer with BBC Studios, praised Dani’s energy and excitement on Strictly, noting her promising partnership with Nikita had gotten off to a fantastic beginning.
The entire team is heartbroken that she can’t continue on the show this year. We’re sending her our warmest wishes for a quick recovery and hope she’ll be back dancing with us soon.
As a lifestyle expert, I’m following the news about Dani’s injury on ‘Strictly’ closely. While it’s still unclear if she’ll be replaced, it’s sadly not uncommon for contestants to have to withdraw due to injury. It happens more often than you might think, and we’re sending her our best wishes for a speedy recovery!
Tillie Amartey, known for her role on Waterloo Road, has stated she wasn’t in discussions about taking over from Dani, despite appearing on the 2023 Strictly Come Dancing Christmas special.
A source told Daily Mail: ‘Tillie hasn’t had any contact with Strictly Come Dancing.
‘Bosses still don’t know if they are replacing Dani yet.’
It’s very rare for a celebrity contestant to be replaced on the show after starting the series, but it has happened once. In 2019, Jamie Laing from *Made in Chelsea* had to withdraw from *Strictly Come Dancing* after injuring himself during a group dance at the launch of the show.
Kelvin Fletcher, a popular actor from Emmerdale, took his place that year and, partnered with Oti Mabuse, ultimately won the competition.
This latest departure is another setback for the Strictly Come Dancing team, following Kristian’s exit from the show last month.
Oh my goodness, I’m absolutely gutted! I just heard that my absolute favorite actor from Game of Thrones has to leave Strictly! He said he’s so sad to step down from this season, and honestly, *I’m* the one who’s devastated! He was so excited to be on the show, and I was already imagining him waltzing across the floor. It’s just… heartbreaking. He’s so sorry to let us all down, but believe me, *we’re* the ones who are disappointed! I was so looking forward to seeing him dance!
‘Thank you all for your support and I will be back on my feet very soon, in every sense.’
Reality TV star Thomas Skinner, currently competing on Strictly Come Dancing with Amy Dowden, recently confessed to infidelity. He admitted to cheating on his wife, Sinead, only a few weeks after their wedding in 2022.
He claimed the affair was a ‘moment of madness’ that saw him almost ‘ruin his life’.
