Dancing On Ice Axed After Final? Holly Willoughby Ditches ITV Deal
It’s possible that Dancing On Ice might get cancelled soon, following Sam Aston from Coronation Street being declared the winner for the year 2025 on Sunday.
Over the past two years, the ITV series that’s hosted by Holly Willoughby and Stephen Mulhern has lost more than a million viewers. The show, originally launched in 2006, has been deemed “tired” by staff members, suggesting it may be coming to an end.
Following the disclosure by TopMob, it emerged that Holly declined an enticing offer from ITV to host a new edition of the timeless game show You Bet!, having gained a worldwide fanbase through Celebrity Bear Hunt instead.
As a lifestyle enthusiast, I’m sharing some intriguing insights from The Sun. It seems the show we all love might be taking a brief hiatus, only to return refreshed and revitalized at a future date. This is reminiscent of the time when the series was paused in 2014, and then made a triumphant comeback four years later. Stay tuned for more updates!
According to a source, the viewership numbers have significantly decreased compared to before, yet nearly three million people tuned in for the launch event. Admittedly, the show’s format seems to be losing its appeal, and they aren’t attracting the high-profile stars as they used to.
‘It seems changes are inevitable, and it might undergo a revitalization.’ However, the team appears skeptical about its potential success.

As a die-hard fan, I can’t help but feel on edge about the upcoming decisions following last night’s thrilling Dancing On Ice finale. This show is a significant investment, and I find myself pondering if ITV is truly reaping the rewards it deserves.
TopMob has contacted representatives for Dancing On Ice for comment.
According to a recent report, a source shared with The Mirror: ‘There are genuine concerns that Dancing on Ice may be coming to an end. It’s been running for close to two decades and has a devoted fanbase who deeply enjoy it, but the reality is, there just aren’t enough viewers to sustain it.’
We require more people attending our events, but the attendance numbers have significantly decreased, making it challenging to cover the expenses involved.
It became uncertain about the upcoming season of “Dancing On Ice” as its lead judges, Torvill and Dean, announced their intention to retire from skating, and they took to the ice for what may be their final performance on Sunday.
A representative from ITV stated to the media: “Currently, our focus lies entirely on the highly anticipated series finale of Dancing on Ice, which airs this coming Sunday. As such, no decisions have been made yet.
According to sources within ITV, Holly was occupied with other obligations, causing her to miss the opportunity to rejoin the game show she co-hosted with Stephen in a two-part special last year.
Although her other role remains unknown for now, she has gained worldwide recognition through Netflix’s Celebrity Bear Hunt – marking a significant departure from her previous work at ITV.

Holly has left a strong impression on executives at the global streaming platform, leading industry insiders to comment that they are eagerly anticipating the possibility of collaborating further with her on projects destined for international broadcast.
According to a source, the audience’s strong desire for “You Bet” led ITV executives to extend its broadcast for a complete season.
‘Holly and Stephen are a great double act and they were both brilliant so they were asked back.
‘But Holly politely declined, she has other commitments and couldn’t make it work.
She’s currently highly sought-after, and no longer tied to appearing on This Morning for four days a week, she can explore various opportunities, some of which are on a global scale.
As a lifestyle enthusiast, I couldn’t help but be thrilled about my recent venture, the Celebrity Bear Hunt, which marked my debut on Netflix. The experience was nothing short of extraordinary, and I must say, both I and the team at Netflix found ourselves smitten with each other. This successful collaboration could very well pave the way for future endeavors.
‘The world is now Holly’s oyster, there are so many opportunities for her.’
In the final show on Sunday, Sam, along with his professional dance partner Molly Lanaghan, clinched the title of Dancing On Ice champions for the year 2025, barely edging out the heavily favored contestant, Michaela Strachan, as predicted by bookmakers.

In the competition, Anton Ferdinand and Annette Dytrt ended up placing third, just shy of the finalists Sam and Michaela. Meanwhile, as they fought for first place, Sam and Michaela danced to the legendary Bolero routine by judges Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean.
31-year-old soap actor was surprised by the outcome since the Springwatch presenter, aged 58, was heavily favored by bookmakers to win the show as its oldest winner in over a decade and the first female champion.
Just moments after my triumphant victory was declared, I found myself utterly speechless, Holly and Stephen. The sheer elation left me momentarily at a loss for words.
A short while ago, the soap actor pondered over how much of an adventure it had turned out to be for him and his professional companion.
It’s been quite an incredible ride, and quite the rollercoaster too. Molly has cherished the idea of being part of this program ever since she watched it as a child, making it her lifelong dream.
