Dana White names a new No. 1 and it’s not Jon Jones
As a gamer with a background in mixed martial arts and politics, I can’t help but share my thoughts on this intriguing development. Dana White, a man whose opinion on combat sports I’ve long respected, has just elevated the political sphere to the UFC octagon. By declaring Donald Trump as the most resilient human being he’s ever met, White has certainly stirred up a storm in both worlds.
UFC president Dana White has made headlines with his strong opinions about who the greatest fighter ever, pound-for-pound, is. According to him, it’s Jon Jones, and he’s expressed this viewpoint so frequently that it’s turned into a popular joke and meme on social media platforms.
However, in a recent conversation with FOX Sports, White revealed a change in his top spot, and surprisingly, it’s no longer Jones. During an interview with Brian Kilmeade, White discussed his connection with ex-President Donald Trump, and when asked about Trump’s position in White’s esteem, he shared his thoughts.
1. White stated about the presidential candidate: “Firstly, consider any of the top fighters in history. In my opinion, Trump is number one – the most resilient individual I’ve encountered throughout my life.” He continued, “I find myself asking the question: why continue when you already have wealth, a wonderful life, and everything else? The answer lies in this: he truly loves our country.”

White additionally discussed his bond with Trump, an initial backer of UFC. “Loyalty matters greatly to me,” he expressed. “He’s been a wonderful friend to me. Moreover, he’s a passionate fight enthusiast, as you know. It wasn’t merely that the UFC gained popularity and Trump supported us; rather, it was Trump who contacted us when we struggled to secure venues, inviting us to perform at The Taj Mahal. We held our first two events there.”
White further discussed the reason behind numerous UFC fighters openly endorsing Trump, a topic we’ve previously raised for consideration.
In essence, during all the fights in these events, he was present from the start to the finish for both occasions. Throughout my career, he’s been the one to contact me whenever something positive happened, saying “congratulations, I knew you could do it.”
“Jones, don’t fret; it seems he still considers you the top fighter in the UFC. Just remember, Trump always takes priority.”
