Dan Trachtenberg, the director of the latest Predator film, has shared optimistic news about the future of the franchise. He’s hinted that Arnold Schwarzenegger might even return in a future installment, following reports that the studio is interested in bringing him back.

Director Trachtenberg recently told Collider that both Badlands and the animated film Predator: Killer of Killers have opened up a lot of possibilities for future Predator stories. He explained that they can now explore the franchise through animation and live-action, with new characters, time periods, and locations. He’s particularly excited about taking the series in directions that other sci-fi franchises haven’t explored before.

The new Predator movie, Badlands, with Elle Fanning and Dimitrius Schuster-Koloamatangi, was released in theaters on November 7th. According to Deadline, discussions are underway about bringing back Arnold Schwarzenegger – who starred in the original 1987 Predator film – for a future movie. Director Trachtenberg has hinted at exploring various characters, suggesting that Schwarzenegger’s character, Dutch, could potentially return if an agreement can be reached.
