Look forward to the swift return of DAN DA DAN for its second season, as it reunites us with our beloved oddball companions for additional thrilling conflicts and peculiar journeys!

After a highly successful premiere, it was announced that DAN DA DAN will return for a second season on Crunchyroll. The anime garnered an impressive 4.9 rating on the platform and received 14 nominations at the 2025 Crunchyroll Anime Awards.

DAN DA DAN Season 2

I’m absolutely thrilled to announce that starting July 3rd, I’ll be diving back into the whimsical world of DAN DA DAN Season 2! This time around, Momo and Okarun are gearing up for another round of adventures as they brace themselves against the eerie paranormal forces threatening our planet. With even more laughter and peculiar events on the horizon, you won’t want to miss out! The new season will be available on Crunchyroll, Netflix, Hulu, Muse, ADN, and numerous other streaming platforms. Can’t wait to join Momo and Okarun once again!

[Synopsis]

As a high school student named Momo, hailing from a family of mediums with a knack for the spirit realm, I initially lock horns with my classmate Okarun, an occult enthusiast who’s all about aliens.

This revelation stirs something within me, unlocking latent powers, while Okarun finds himself imbued with the ability to cast curses. With the world we know on the brink of being overrun by paranormal forces, we join forces, pooling our newfound abilities to stand against these otherworldly threats and protect our shared reality.

Theatrical Release

Beyond Japan’s borders, the film “DAN DA DAN” will also have a theatrical release, commencing with the premiere of “DAN DA DAN: Evil Eye,” which includes the initial three episodes of the new season, starting July 6th. Ticket purchases for North American and Canadian viewers are now available via GKIDS.

Although details about the global launch in various countries are still uncertain, it has been disclosed that the theatrical debut will feature unique conversations with the series creators, Fuga Yamashiro and Abel Gongora.

2025 Crunchyroll Anime Awards

2025’s Anime of the Year Award at the Crunchyroll Anime Awards was not scooped up by DAN DA DAN. Instead, the prestigious title went to Solo Leveling. Interestingly, though, DAN DA DAN did manage to secure three awards: Best Opening Sequence, Best Character Design, and Best Anime Song featuring Otonoke by Creppy Nuts.
