Damon Wayans Sr. Reveals Shocking Family Twist About His Ex-Girlfriend!

During his latest podcast interview, Damon Wayans Sr. shared an unexpected familial link he discovered with one of his past romantic partners.

On the Club Shay Shay podcast featuring Shannon Sharpe, Damon confessed that he had a past relationship with a woman who was previously involved with his nephew.

However, the 64-year-old actor and comedian claims that he didn’t learn about the woman dating his nephew until after he felt an instant romantic attraction towards her.

In a confessional moment, Damon admitted, “She was the one I had feelings for,” then posed the question to Sharpe who seemed taken aback, “Don’t tell me you’ve never… didn’t you ever like the Jackson 5?

Absolutely not, I’ve never done something like that. It’s completely out of bounds, especially with a family member, Damon,” the host responded firmly.

This year, Damon was honored along with his entire family at the NAACP Image Awards Hall of Fame. However, when questioned about his nephew and a woman involved, he clarified, “They weren’t romantically involved.

He started this relationship approximately in the year 2002. This was after his divorce from his wife, Lisa Thorner, which occurred in 2000. They had been married since 1984.

He reminisced about being single for two years following his divorce. Then, upon seeing his nephew’s former partner, he felt an overwhelming sensation, saying, “Wow, I’m in love.

‘And then I found out my nephew had dated [her],’ he added.

Damon wasn’t going to let an annoying detail prevent him from pursuing the unnamed woman, so he took some time to discuss his decision with his nephew and gauge his thoughts on the situation.

He remembered saying something along the lines of, “Hey, what’s going on?” and the other person responded with, “You are it.” To which he replied, “Alright, hand over the Courvoisier, let’s move!

He continued and found himself falling in love, which turned out fine for him, he admitted. However, he playfully pointed out that family get-togethers became a bit uncomfortable afterward.

Despite not appearing regretful about their past relationship, the Wayans brother explained it by citing the limited options, or “small dating pool,” in California.

Perhaps he was referring to a less extensive “circle” within Hollywood, considering that California is the most populous state in the U.S., and Los Angeles ranks as the second-largest city in the nation.

Besides keeping quiet about the name of the lady he went out with, Damon also chose not to bring up his nephew’s name in their conversation.

After his 2000 romance, there isn’t much publicly available information on the former Saturday Night Live star’s love life.

In their married life, Damon Wayans Sr. and his former spouse Lisa Thorner had four children together: Damon Wayans Jr. (aged 42), Michael Wayans (aged 40), Cara Wayans (aged 37), and Kyla Wayans (aged 34).
