Dakota Mortensen’s storyline will be edited out of ‘Vanderpump Villa’

Dakota Mortensen‘s stoyline will be edited out of the upcoming season of “Vanderpump Villa.”

Max Mortensen, a familiar face on “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives,” was going to be featured on the third season of “Vanderpump Villa,” which begins April 16th. He was scheduled to join a trip with members of DadTok – a group made up of current and former partners of the MomTok influencers from “Mormon Wives.” Variety first reported this news.

Hulu declined to comment.

This new reality TV show is the latest development in the ongoing drama between Mortensen and his former partner, Taylor Frankie Paul.

The reality star was about to appear on a new dating show, but that plan was interrupted when someone from ‘The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives’ tried to connect the two shows, and things fell apart. What will happen next?

Filming for Season 5 of Hulu’s “Mormon Wives” was temporarily stopped last month due to a domestic violence investigation involving a couple featured on the show. More recently, a video surfaced of a different argument from 2023, leading ABC to cancel the planned release of Season 22 of “The Bachelorette,” starring Paul. It’s currently unclear if that season will ever be shown.

A significant part of Paul’s storyline on “Mormon Wives” has focused on her difficult relationship with Mortensen. In 2023, Paul was arrested and pleaded guilty to aggravated assault, with other charges dismissed. The show’s first episode in 2024 included footage of the incident that led to her arrest.

This timeline details how Hulu’s ‘The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives’ gained popularity and the investigations into domestic violence involving Taylor Frankie Paul.

So, how does the reality show “Vanderpump Villa” connect to all of this? The third season of “Seeking Sister Wife” showed the aftermath of a dramatic crossover with “Vanderpump Villa,” which features former Bravo star Lisa Vanderpump and her team at luxurious homes in Europe. Demi Engemann and Jessi Ngatikaura from “Seeking Sister Wife” appeared on the second season of “Vanderpump Villa” and became involved in a scandal with staff member Marciano Brunette, who claims he had relationships with both of them. The current fourth season of “Seeking Sister Wife” revisits this crossover, and a trip to “Vanderpump Villa” by some of the husbands adds even more conflict, particularly between Mortensen and Paul.

Despite stepping back from mainstream reality TV, Mortensen will still be appearing on screen. He’s joining “Unwell Winter Games,” a new reality competition series on YouTube created by Alex Cooper, which launches on April 6th.
