Dakota Johnson’s new comedy that’s an “instant classic” gets chaotic first trailer
Here comes the initial sneak peek for “Madame Web,” featuring Dakota Johnson in her upcoming comedic flick titled “Splitsville.” And let me tell you, it’s a whirlwind of fun!
In the movie, the story revolves around a duo named Carey, played by co-writer Kyle Marvin, and Ashley, portrayed by actress Adria Arjona. They’re on a lengthy journey along a road, when Ashley unexpectedly shares her desire for a divorce.
Excited after the incident, Carey hastens towards his companions, the pair comprising Paul (also a co-writer and director with Michael Angelo Covino) and Julie (Johnson). He shares the entire episode with them.

It’s clear they practice an open form of marriage, where they find it essential for their relationship’s success to be able to engage intimately with others. Not long afterwards, Carey and Julie indulge in a sexual encounter.
However, the following day, his anger boils over, leading to a heated argument between them. Now, their respective marriages hang in the balance as a result.
Or, more informally:
But the next day, he blows up at Paul. A massive fight erupts, and it’s putting both their marriages at risk.
This sequence consists of scenes depicting a car rolling over, peculiar men without clothing playing guitar, further confrontations, and numerous instances of interaction with unusual characters. Succession‘s Nicholas Braun makes an appearance to facilitate a tense team-building exercise.
Last month, when Splitsville hit the screens at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival, I was thrilled to learn that it garnered a whopping 72% positive response from 18 critics on Rotten Tomatoes! As a gamer who loves immersing myself in engaging stories, I can’t wait to see this movie and experience the buzz for myself.
The assessment of the film’s deadline was exceptionally positive. It lauded Marvin and Covino for their exceptionally intelligent and humorous scriptwriting skills, and hailed them as outstanding comedic performers. Furthermore, it described the fight scene as a timeless masterpiece, flawlessly orchestrated and destined to be a new classic.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the movie was commended for being an “unusual” type of comedy. Furthermore, they recognized both Johnson and Arjona for their exceptional skills in delivering comedic performances.
The movie “Splitsville” is set to premiere in selected US theaters on August 22nd. A broader release across the country will follow on September 5th. At this time, a release date for the UK has yet to be announced.
