Dakota Johnson reveals surprising A-list support after her embarrassing Razzie win for box office disaster Madame Web
In 2024, Dakota Johnson was given a Razzie Award for the category of Worst Actress, which she received due to her performance in the financially unsuccessful film titled Madame Web.
Now, the 35-year-old actress is candidly discussing an awkward professional incident from her past, revealing who among the Hollywood elite extended a helping hand.
In a chat on Amy Poehler’s Good Hang podcast, it was Johnson (the offspring of Melanie Griffith in the nepotism world) who disclosed that Sandra Bullock contacted her regarding the calamity.
In 2010, Bullock humorously accepted the Razzie for Worst Actress for her performance in All About Steve at the awards ceremony.
Dakota mentioned during Tuesday’s episode of Amy’s show that she received a voice message from someone saying something like, “I heard you joined the Razzie club, let’s have breakfast, we should make it a monthly tradition.

The Lost Daughter star also recalled how she reacted to Sandra’s voice note.
She became quite surprised and excited when receiving this message from her, as she is someone who greatly influences my perception, much like a renowned actor or actress in films. She exclaimed something along the lines of, “Wow!” and was clearly overwhelmed.
Previously, it was reported that Dakota had upset her Madame Web producers by frequently criticizing the Marvel film publicly, as it struggled to meet expectations.
In a $80 million film production, she portrayed the lead character of the superhero. However, after its debut on Valentine’s Day in 2024, both critics and audiences were highly critical of it.
About a month into its theatrical premiere, it had only grossed $40 million domestically.
In recent times, its initial release as a superhero didn’t break any records, earning just $15.1 million during its first weekend.
In another part of the interview, the star who became famous with it discussed the series that catapulted her into the limelight – Fifty Shades of Grey.
She told Amy she is ‘always psyched’ to shoot the movies’ steamy moments.

As a passionate performer, when preparing myself for my on-camera roles, I find that my enthusiasm is naturally high, much like how one might be eager for an engaging conversation or a thrilling adventure – only in this case, it’s the art of acting.
She noted that lessons she learned from her mother have spilled into her entertainment career.
She expressed that she aims to feel confident within her body. Growing up, her mother instilled a strong sense of pride and love for her body, which she has always appreciated, particularly in her career where she can make full use of it and find authenticity.
Johnson added, ‘She also talked to me about sex and how precious and important [it is].
In essence, my job involves elements that I find courageous to tackle, and I believe that when these aspects are effectively employed within a narrative, they become crucial.
