Following the strong reception for We Bury the Dead, Daisy Ridley is already eying her next big role.
According to Deadline, the British actress will star in a new film called Killa Bee. The movie is based on the real-life story of Bryony Tyrell, an ICU nurse who balances the demands of her job with a secret life as someone involved with a rising star in the British cage fighting scene.
Originally from Southampton, Tyrell started kickboxing at university and continued to train, eventually earning a black belt and competing in martial arts. As a professional athlete, she won several championships.
The movie about the MMA fighter also focuses on Tyrell, a mother of two who also happens to have advanced degrees in nursing and molecular biology. Ridley explained how they worked to tell her story in the film, Killa Bee:
Daisy Ridley says Bryony’s story is incredibly inspiring, filled with courage and strength. She was really touched by Bryony’s powerful and uplifting experience and is excited to play her in the film.

Knockout Productions and Picture Perfect are teaming up to create the film Killa Bee. The screenplay was written by Ruth Sewell, known for her short films Kill and Fish Love, and will be directed by Kenton Oxley of Farah’s. Executive producer Michael Foster, along with producers Mark Vennis and Lucinda Thakrar, released a statement regarding the adaptation of Tyrell’s life story for the screen.
Bryony Tyrell has been involved with the project from the start and is happy to see her life story adapted for the screen. She’s currently helping to guide the production. The script is being written with close input from her family, making sure it feels emotionally honest and stays true to her story. Director Kenton Oxley, who has been friends with Bryony since school, is bringing a deeply personal and loyal perspective to the film, built on their long-standing relationship.
Capture will start selling the film Killa Bee internationally before next week’s American Film Market. Filming, starring Ridley, is scheduled to begin in the second quarter of 2026.
Besides her current work, the 33-year-old actress is hoping to reprise her role in the Star Wars franchise. Lucasfilm and Disney are developing a New Jedi Order movie that would feature Rey. Currently, there’s no confirmed release date for the film, tentatively titled Killa Bee.
