Star Wars‘ Daisy Ridley has landed her next lead movie role.

The performer will appear in the action-thriller “Dedication,” directed by Martin Campbell, who is known for “Casino Royale.” (This information comes from Variety.)

Previously, this team collaborated on a suspenseful movie titled “Cleaner,” set in London, that is scheduled to debut on Sky Cinema around the start of 2025.

The narrative revolves around Major Billie Jean Parker (Ridley), a Marine Corps commander whose dedication is tested, following a critical operation in the Philippines where unintended civilian harm occurred during the apprehension of the anarchist leader, Omar Romatas, leading to her dismissal.

In the midst of losing her job, she goes to see her ailing father Clyde, a retired Marine, before he passes away. He requests that she be present at the unveiling event for a school building that has been named after him.

The situation becomes lethal as Bento, son of Omar Romatas with a thirst for vengeance, initiates an attack, capturing hostages. Pushed back into action, Billie Jean devises cunning traps and carries out calculated attacks to outmaneuver the aggressors.

I find myself compelled to face my past and establish my enduring impact in a tireless struggle that shapes my lasting impression.

The movie penned by Dan Gordon is set to debut at the American Film Market. The producers of this film are Phil Hunt, known for “Talk To Me”, Valentin Dimitrov from “The Hitman’s Bodyguard”, and Sagiv Diamant of “We Die Young”.

Highland Film Group CEO Arianne Fraser expressed excitement about working with a director like Martin Campbell, whose talent for large-action sequences, notably shown in the Bond series, is truly awe-inspiring.

Daisy Ridley will brilliantly portray the various aspects of a former war hero, now compelled to re-enter battle mode for what may be the final time.

At the moment, Ridley is featured in the new thriller titled “Magpie“, which revolves around a pair of married individuals whose relationship starts to disintegrate when their daughter shares the screen with a captivating Hollywood celebrity.

In his latest role, the actor was featured prominently in the critically-acclaimed film “Young Woman and the Sea.” Upcoming, he’ll star in the zombie chiller “We Bury the Dead,” sharing screen time with Mark Coles Smith and Brenton Thwaites.
