Daisy Ridley cuts a chic figure in a cream dress as she attends photocall during the 50th American Film Festival
As an ardent admirer of Daisy Ridley, I can’t help but be in awe of her strength and resilience. Her journey, marked by talent, grace, and now, bravery, is truly inspiring. From starring as Rey in Star Wars to bravely sharing her personal health battles, she continues to prove that she’s more than just an actress – she’s a beacon of hope and courage.
On a casual Wednesday at the 50th American Film Festival, which took place in France, Daisy Ridley gracefully stood out in a cream-colored gown for the photoshoot.
At the Beauville event, the 32-year-old British actress showcased her shapely legs in a sophisticated minidress.
Daisy accessorized her dress with a big, golden safety pin and completed her ensemble with a pair of white court shoes.
She accessorised with gold earrings and gold rings and smiled as the wind swept her hair around.
The Deauville American Film Festival was established in 1975 and initially didn’t offer competitions. However, it started presenting awards for full-length movies in 1995 and for short films by 1998.
Daisy has two films in post-production: We Bury The Dead and Cleaner.
The Australian-American survival thriller “We Bury The Dead” is set to debut at the Adelaide Film Festival in November.
As a devoted admirer, I can’t help but express my excitement about the gripping action-thriller, “Cleaner,” which features none other than the talented Clive Owen alongside Taz Skylar, known for his exceptional role in Netflix’s One Piece series. This British masterpiece is sure to keep fans on the edge of their seats!
In August, Daisy revealed she has been diagnosed with Graves’ disease.
For the initial time, the actress shared details about her autoimmune condition during an interview with Women’s Health. In this conversation, she disclosed that she had unknowingly attributed her symptoms to a particularly demanding movie role.
According to the NHS, Graves’ disease leads your immune system to manufacture antibodies which stimulate the thyroid gland to overproduce thyroid hormones.
Graves’ disease doesn’t have a clear origin, but it predominantly impacts young and middle-aged females and frequently has a genetic link.
After completing the filming of her psychological thriller titled Magpie, Daisy began experiencing symptoms such as intense heat waves and exhaustion. She then made an appointment with her general practitioner.
The actress from Star Wars reminisced, thinking to herself: “I suppose the reason for my feeling unwell is because I’ve recently portrayed a very demanding character.
Yet, she was subsequently advised to consult an endocrinologist (someone specializing in treating hormonal disorders), who eventually explained that her symptoms could be described as feeling exhausted yet restless.
The star grappled with issues such as shaking hands, rapid pulse, reduced weight, and exhaustion.
Upon discovering potential events unfolding, Daisy suddenly understood: “It struck me as odd, I found myself thinking, ‘I guess I thought I was merely irritated with the universe,’ yet it seems everything is moving at such a rapid pace that relaxation becomes nearly impossible.
However, even though the young woman and the sea star felt sorrowful about her health predicament, she also experienced a sense of irritation because she was someone who typically prioritized physical self-care.
Even so, Daisy chose to adopt some modifications in her lifestyle to control the illness better. She opted for a thoughtful diet, not rigidly adhering to it, and engaged in self-care such as regular exercise, doing it mainly for personal well-being.
Following these adjustments, Beauty expressed a sense of improved well-being and heightened awareness of her surroundings, expressing: “I didn’t fully grasp just how poorly I was feeling prior to this.
As a committed follower, I’m sharing that I’m persistently working on learning to tune into my body, an aspect that many women often neglect.
She said: ‘We all read the stats about women being undiagnosed or underdiagnosed and sort of coming to terms with saying: “I really, actually don’t feel good” and not going: “I’m fine, I’m fine, I’m fine, I’m fine.” It’s just normalised to not feel good.’
This isn’t the first time Daisy has spoken out about her health battles.
In my own journey, I’ve chosen to share the impact that my meteoric rise in fame and success with the Star Wars franchise had on my personal health.
She made her big screen debut in 2015 when she portrayed Rey in Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
