As a seasoned gamer of both the silver screen and the digital realm, I must confess that this news has sent my heart racing like the engines of a classic convertible on a dusty desert road! Daisy Edgar-Jones, the radiant star who captivated me in Normal People, is stepping into another iconic role – this time in Tennessee Williams’ Cat on a Hot Tin Roof.

Daisy Edgar-Jones has landed a new role in a theatre show, featuring an impressive cast.

As reported by BBC News, the performer is set to appear in a staging of “Cat on a Hot Tin Roof” that will be presented over an eight-week period at the Almeida Theatre in London.

1955’s play titled “A Streetcar Named Desire,” penned by Tennessee Williams, delves into the complexities of the affluent Pollitt clan, who convene to celebrate their patriarch’s birthday. The narrative unfolds as undercurrents of family strife surface, with hidden truths coming to light in a struggle for influence and dominance.

Meanwhile, Edgar-Jones recently worked alongside Euphoria‘s Jacob Elordi on a new drama.

The story, titled “On Swift Horses“, chronicles the lives of Muriel (Edgar-Jones) and her returning war veteran husband Lee (Elordi), as depicted in Shannon Pufahl’s novel.

After relocating from her peaceful rural farmhouse in Kansas, Muriel starts feeling uneasy in a small, sandy bungalow of San Diego. But then, the entrance of Lee’s gambling sibling, Julius, brings about a shift in circumstances.

Once Julius departs for Las Vegas, Muriel embarks on living a secretive lifestyle, frequently visiting race tracks to grasp the art of gambling.

The classic play “Cat on a Hot Tin Roof” is set to be staged at the Almeida Theatre in London from December 10, 2024, all the way through February 1, 2025.
