D4vd’s manager breaks his silence on the teenager found dead in trunk

Singer D4vd’s manager, Josh Marshall, has publicly addressed the current investigation surrounding the death of Celeste Rivas, who was 15 years old.

The teenager was found D4vd’s Tesla trunk in September.

Marshall used TikTok to respond to comments that claimed he was somehow connected to Rivas’s death.

Marshall, who owns record label and media company Mogul Vision, denied any involvement.

A TikTok user accused Marshall of harming the girl, prompting him to respond with, ‘How dare you say something like this with no facts.

He followed up by stating: ‘This video presents inaccurate information, and the individual sharing it is mistaken. I won’t be commenting on this further for the time being.’

Things have been difficult for my family lately, as I’m a father to three children. I didn’t receive any emails, and to clarify, I don’t have a roommate – I live at home with my wife and kids full-time.

My 14-year-old daughter and many others are being impacted by this news. I want to clarify that I didn’t receive any emails about it, and I was completely unaware of what was happening. Also, I do not reside in California.

I also work remotely almost all the time – about 95% – and my role doesn’t involve a lot of direct contact with clients, including David. Many other colleagues handle his day-to-day needs, not me.

This news is deeply upsetting for many, especially her family. I hope investigators quickly determine what happened. It’s important to remember that much of what’s being said right now is just speculation and hasn’t been proven. Right now, I’m focusing on supporting my family as we process this tragic news. I ask that everyone please stick to reporting confirmed facts. – Josh Marshall.

Marshall also clarified that he did not reside at the singer’s Hollywood Hills residence, stating: ‘Lol I’ve never lived in that home. I live in an entirely different state with my family. I do not have access to any cameras nor anything on that property. Stop creating false narratives and Assumptions.

As a lifestyle expert, I’ve seen firsthand how damaging false information can be. Recently, someone shared a really vulnerable post, and it really resonated with me. They said, ‘This is for anyone who’s been spreading misinformation about me and my family, especially when it ignores the actual facts.’ It’s tough when things get twisted, and they specifically hoped the person who started it all – the creator of a certain video – would pin their comment and set the record straight with a new video. They also asked anyone else jumping on the bandwagon with untrue statements to reconsider the narrative they’re following. It’s a powerful reminder that words have weight and truth matters.

Oh my gosh, I just heard more about Celeste Rivas, and it’s absolutely heartbreaking! It turns out she had a really difficult time at home. I already knew, from earlier reports, that things weren’t good with her family *before*… before they found her, you know… dismembered. It’s just so awful to think about what she went through. I’ve been following this case so closely, and every new detail just makes me feel even worse for her. I’m just hoping for justice, honestly. It’s just devastating. I can’t even imagine.

However, on Wednesday, TMZ revealed further details about the chaotic living situation. The site reported that police were called to the teenager’s home in Lake Elsinore, California, on more than 11 occasions in just one year.

The period covered was from February 2024 to April 2025. Home visits occurred because of ‘minor crimes and suspicious activity‘.

The situation at her home was severely troubled, leading to police being called on three separate occasions on March 19, 2024. Just a few weeks afterward, on April 5, 2024, Rivas was reported as missing.

That same evening, after the family reported their teenager missing, police officers came to the house to inquire about the situation.

Rivas apparently told a story about jokingly planning to run away with her middle school ex-boyfriend, Damien Hernandez, and then later actually doing it.

Damien said that Rivas had arguments with her mother.

The day police visited her home three times also happened to be the day TMZ obtained surveillance footage. The video, from a liquor store near her house, showed Celeste’s sister making a visit.

The sister was trying to locate Celeste and she even checked the liquor store’s surveillance video.

The website reports that the video shows a shot of Celeste running down the street and then moving out of view.

After that, a vehicle is observed leaving and driving away. The security footage could not confirm whether she was inside the car.

The video was obtained from a nearby liquor store’s security cameras. The store owner, Elie Naddaf, stated he shared the footage with the Rivas family and that this was the second instance of the teenager running away from home.

He said he often saw Rivas come into his store to ‘buy soda, chips and gum.’

According to the records, nearly all the calls were categorized as relating to a ‘minor crime investigation’, except for one instance which was logged as being about ‘suspicious circumstances.’

Located in western Riverside County, California, Lake Elsinore is a city about a two-hour drive south of Los Angeles. Originally established as a city in 1888, it sits on the banks of Lake Elsinore, a natural freshwater lake covering approximately 3,000 acres.

It’s also strange that police went to her family’s house at 9:29 PM on April 5, 2024. This was only about 29 minutes after her family had reported her as missing.

Police and other law enforcement groups need to accept reports right away, because the initial hours are extremely important when trying to locate a missing person.

It’s really important to file a report immediately if you’re worried about someone’s safety, because time is of the essence when trying to find them.

In September, the body of Celeste, which had been broken apart and was decomposing, was discovered in the front trunk of a Tesla owned by the singer D4vd.

It comes after police raided the singer’s house searching for blood evidence.

Law enforcement officials were observed departing the Hollywood Hills property – which costs $20,000 per month to rent – carrying several bags of evidence and a computer.

The Daily Mail has reached out to D4vd for further comment.

Rivas had been in the car for several weeks before it was discovered, according to police.

The circumstances surrounding Rivas’s death are still unclear. Her body was discovered inside a car at a Los Angeles vehicle impound lot on September 8.

However, LAPD Captain and Commanding Officer Scot M Williams stated to People on Sunday: ‘We have confirmed that Celeste Rivas Hernandez passed away, and someone then put her body in the front trunk of David Burke’s – whose legal name is [D4vd’s legal name] – Tesla.’

The Tesla had been parked where it was found for several weeks, so it’s probable that Celeste Rivas Hernandez had been deceased for a similar amount of time before her body was discovered.

The police captain added that the LAPD’s robbery-homicide division is still probing the case.

Williams stated: ‘The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner hasn’t yet figured out how or why she died, meaning we can’t say for certain if anyone is criminally responsible for her death, other than the fact that her body was hidden.’

Police had previously shared that Rivas had a history of running away from home, and described his family situation as difficult. They indicated he came from a troubled family environment.

Prior to authorities officially naming Rivas as the victim, her mother shared with TMZ that she thought her daughter was seeing someone called David.

I seriously can’t stop thinking about this! The police are still trying to figure out exactly what happened, you know? They’re trying to understand how that poor teenager ended up in the trunk of his car – can you believe it?! It’s just… unbelievable. I’m glued to every update, desperately hoping they find some answers. It’s all so confusing and scary, and I just want to know what led to this. The investigation is still going on, and honestly, I’m a mess waiting for news.

I was shocked to hear about what happened. Apparently, investigators were called out to a Hollywood tow yard because people noticed a terrible smell. It turned out the smell was coming from the front trunk – the frunk, as Tesla owners call it – of Burke’s impounded Tesla Model Y. It was a truly grisly discovery, and honestly, just thinking about it gives me chills.

Inside, they found Rivas’s dismembered, severely decomposed remains wrapped in plastic.

Investigators recently searched D4vd’s former rental home in the Hollywood Hills. They were looking for blood evidence potentially connected to the remains of a dismembered teenager.

It’s currently unknown what investigators discovered while searching the home. Last week, an LAPD spokesperson stated that ‘several items of evidence’ were gathered for examination.

No arrests have been made, and no suspects or persons of interest have been publicly named.

Her GoFundMe page has collected $24,843 so far.
