Following his arrest and the official ruling on how Celeste Rivas Hernandez died, D4vd’s legal team asserts his innocence.
I still can’t believe it! David – you guys know him as Anthony Burke, but I call him David – was arrested! It’s all over the news, this huge case, and honestly, I’m just…shocked. He’s only 21, and so incredibly talented. I’ve followed his music since the beginning, and to see his name connected to something like this…it’s just awful. I keep replaying his songs, trying to understand how someone so amazing could be involved in anything bad. It’s just… unbelievable.
TMZ reports that the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner has officially ruled the death a homicide.
As a longtime follower of this case, I read the latest report with a heavy heart. It seems the medical examiner faced a real challenge figuring out how she died, simply because her body had been left for so long before they found it back in September. The decomposition was just too advanced to easily determine what happened.
As a lifestyle expert, I’m following the news surrounding D4vd and the tragic death of Seth Hernandez. His legal team just released a statement to the Daily Mail clarifying that he wasn’t responsible for Hernandez’s death, and importantly, as of Friday, no charges have been filed against him. It’s a sensitive situation, and I’m sure everyone is seeking clarity.
Burke was booked on Thursday and is currently being held without bail.
He hasn’t been formally accused of any crime yet, and his arrest was only based on the suspicion of murder.
Lawyers Blair Berk, Marilyn Bednarski, and Regina Peter released a statement to the Daily Mail on Friday, defending their client.
The evidence will clearly demonstrate that David Burke didn’t kill Celeste Rivas Hernandez and wasn’t responsible for her death, they stated.
So far, no grand jury has issued an indictment, and no criminal charges have been filed in this case.
Okay, so they’ve only detained him, thankfully! My David is innocent, I just know it, and his lawyer promised they’re going to fight like crazy to prove it. I’m just so relieved they’re taking this seriously and will do everything to clear his name. It’s just a misunderstanding, I know it is!
Back in September 2025, the body of 14-year-old Hernandez was found in Los Angeles.
Police found the woman’s remains inside the front trunk of a Tesla that had been towed. The car turned out to belong to Burke, and the discovery was made after people noticed a bad smell.
The car was found at a Hollywood impound lot and seemed to have been left there, likely because Burke was traveling on tour.
His tour across North America was subsequently canceled after the impounded vehicle was discovered.
D4vd has been under investigation by a grand jury since last November regarding a murder case.
His arrest came around seven months after the vehicle was discovered.
Police released photos showing the scene of D4vd’s arrest. The photos showed officers with weapons raiding his home as part of an operation involving the Robbery-Homicide and Gang and Narcotics divisions.
Last November, the LAPD requested a judge to keep the details of the autopsy private, explaining that they were actively investigating a murder.
