Celeste Rivas, the teenager whose remains were discovered in a car belonging to singer D4vd, has been returned to her family.
The Los Angeles County Coroner’s office confirmed to TMZ on Tuesday that Rivas’s family can now take her body home.
I can’t believe this is still happening. The police are *still* investigating what happened to that poor kid, the one they found in *his* Tesla. It’s been weeks since they found him, and I’m just constantly checking for updates. It’s awful, just awful, and I need to know what happened to him. I’m so worried about him, and this whole thing is just… devastating.
Police say that Rivas was found after their car was towed and taken to an impound lot in Hollywood.
Police discovered the remains of Rivas in September, just one day before her 15th birthday, according to reports.
Officials reported that the woman’s body showed significant decay, suggesting she had been in the Tesla for a considerable period.

Police say Rivas had left home in Lake Elsinore, California, on several occasions because of arguments with her family.
Rivas had been reported to authorities as a missing person in May 2024, officials said.
On Wednesday, police searched D4vd’s home in the Hollywood Hills, looking for any traces of blood related to the ongoing investigation.
As of Tuesday afternoon, David Anthony Burke, known as D4vd, hasn’t been officially accused of any wrongdoing. The Daily Mail has contacted him for a statement about the situation.
A photo surfaced last week showing D4vd and a young fan sitting together in a green booth at a venue. The flash from the camera is visible reflected in a mirror behind them.
I’ve been noticing D4vd’s style lately, and I spotted him in a cool black t-shirt with a white spider design – it’s actually the same shirt he wore when he met Billie Eilish last fall! It’s a look that really stands out.
They seemed close, with the teen looking lovingly at the rising TikTok star in the photo.
TMZ reported Wednesday that police left the property with several bags of evidence and a computer after discovering images there.

New images have emerged showing the musician and the deceased teenager together in a livestream from January 2024.
At one point during the stream, Rivas was encouraging D4vd to answer a question from a viewer.
D4vd seemingly shared a TikTok video of someone slicing lunchmeat, implying it was how he’d handle a partner who was speaking with other people.
Seeing this is incredibly upsetting, especially knowing what happened to Celeste. It’s heartbreaking, and she deserves justice.
One person joked, ‘Let’s all smile, we’re about to be in a documentary!’ Another suggested investigating the artist’s social media activity, specifically looking through everything he’s liked and reposted.
Reflecting the widespread fascination with true crime, one social media user jokingly predicted that everyone will eventually become the subject of a Netflix documentary.
Brayan, the person who first shared the video of the chopping, has stated that he wasn’t thinking about D4vd when he originally posted it.

Brayan explained that his TikTok video was a joke based on a popular cucumber trend, and wasn’t connected to anything happening in the news or about any specific people.
He explained that the video was originally intended as entertainment and wasn’t connected to the murder investigation.
Brayan said of D4vd: ‘I have no idea who bro was until today keep that in mind.’
Online, many noticed a similarity between Rivas and the dark-haired woman in the artist’s 2022 song and music video, “Romantic Homicide.”
Online investigators discovered a song by the artist that might be a key piece of evidence in the teen’s disturbing death. The song, a demo track called “Celeste_Demo unfin,” was released in December 2023.

The lyrics revealed a number of identifying traits Rivas had prior to her tragic death.
I can’t stop thinking about her. Her name, Celeste, is even tattooed on my chest. I constantly catch her scent on my clothes and feel like I hear her voice with every breath I take – I’m completely consumed by her.
As I listened closer, the lyrics really started to hint at a sweet romance – it’s clear the artist is singing about someone they’re deeply connected to. It feels like we’re getting a glimpse into their love story!
This collection of lines expresses a complex mix of emotions. It touches on insecurity and a desire to be loved for more than just physical appearance (‘Afraid you’ll only love me when undressed’), while also acknowledging someone’s beauty (‘You look so damn gorgeous in that dress’). The speaker admits to feeling down about missing someone (‘Missing you so much makes me depressed’), but then quickly shifts focus (‘But I digress, because’).
It was not immediately clear if D4vd was singing about Rivas in the track.
