D23 2025 Showcase Preview Predictions: What Marvel, Star Wars, and Disney Announcements Will Be There?

The event labeled as D23 is taking place this weekend, and we can’t predict what exciting announcements might be made during it.

Starting this coming Saturday at 9:15 a.m. Eastern Time or 6:15 a.m. Pacific Time, the Walt Disney Studios Showcase at Destination D23 will commence. This panel lasting approximately 75 minutes will offer fans a unique sneak peek into their favorite movies and a hint of what’s to come from the Disney film studios.

Although Destination D23 isn’t typically as large-scale as D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event (previously known as D23 Expo), there’s still a good chance it will unveil some reveals and surprises about upcoming Disney, Marvel, and Star Wars projects. It’s important to note that there’s no certainty that any trailers or footage displayed during the panel will be released online, but we remain optimistic. Here’s a sneak peek at what we’re eagerly anticipating for Destination D23 this year.

D23 2025 Showcase Preview Predictions

Marvel

If Marvel plans to reveal anything related to their productions at Destination D23 this year, it’s highly likely that it will be concerning the Marvel Zombies series. With the animated show set to premiere in just under a month, and no full trailer released yet, it seems the perfect time for the promotional campaign for Marvel Zombies to kick off. Given these circumstances, we can expect this project to move forward soon.

As an eager movie enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share some exciting news! It seems we might be on the cusp of witnessing our first full-length Wonder Man trailer. If the rumors are true, this sneak peek will likely debut at Destination D23 in December. Frankly, with details about this project still scarce, I can’t wait to unravel the mysteries surrounding Wonder Man!

Brand New Day, or Avengers: Doomsday. These films are being made already, which means they could potentially have enough footage to create a brief teaser trailer.

Instead of sharing footage, there might be an announcement about Black Panther 3, Jake Schreier’s X-Men movie, the long-awaited Blade film, among others. It’s quite possible that they will unveil the title for the enigmatic MCU film that’s slated for a release in July 2027.

Star Wars

It appears that a trailer for the Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord project is likely to be released soon. Alternatively, an official premiere date may be announced (we currently know it’s scheduled for 2026), or possibly a behind-the-scenes featurette could be unveiled. Given that this Lucasfilm project is one of the most anticipated upcoming productions, it’s reasonable to expect that there will be substantial updates about it at D23.

At Destination D23, there’s a possibility we might catch a glimpse of the upcoming trailer for The Mandalorian and Grogu. After all, the movie has been in post-production since some time ago, and footage from the movie was exhibited at Star Wars Celebration in Tokyo, Japan, back in April 2025. Perhaps they’ll replay that footage during D23 for the audience, or maybe they’ll make it available online for everyone to enjoy.

Might it be possible to secure some updates for Star Wars: Starfighter, considering that the Shawn Levy movie is currently in production? Perhaps not a full trailer, but a brief sneak peek or snippet hinting at the upcoming Ryan Gosling-led project could also be on the table.

Disney

It seems reasonable to expect that both Zootopia 2 and Tron: Ares will be showcased at this weekend’s event, given that they are slated for release by year-end and Disney has already been intensively promoting them.

The primary concern is whether 20th Century Studios might present any of their upcoming projects such as Predator: Badlands or Avatar: Fire and Ash at D23. Particularly, Avatar: Fire and Ash seems probable given that the first trailer for this movie was recently unveiled; while it’s uncertain if they’ll showcase a complete new trailer, it’s likely we’ll see some sort of update on its progress.

Last but not least, coming in March 2026 is Pixar’s Hoppers. Although there’s only one teaser available at present, releasing a full trailer to stir up anticipation for the film seems sensible, given that Pixar’s previous release, Elio, underperformed in cinemas.
