Cypress Hill and London Symphony Orchestra To Release Concert Film, Live Album

The rap group Cypress Hill, along with the London Symphony Orchestra, have officially announced plans for a special joint performance, which will be released as both a concert movie and a live album.

“The recording titled ‘Cypress Hill and London Symphony Orchestra: Black Sunday Live at the Royal Albert Hall’ captures a unique performance by these two groups, which happened in July 2024. This concert movie will premiere in theaters across the US and Canada on March 30 and 31, followed by an exclusive US screening on April 2. The live album is slated for release on June 6.”

It’s fascinating to witness hip hop being performed in such a manner, even at the esteemed Royal Albert Hall. Troy Miller, who led the orchestra during the performance, expressed, “I’ve always found the concept of blending music genres intriguing. To have the opportunity to do this with the most accomplished hip hop group ever and the world’s finest symphony orchestra was a privilege! The band allowed me creative control over the arrangements, resulting in something genuinely unique and captivating — it was an amazing collaboration!
