Twin Peaks has found a new streaming home in the UK.
In celebration of the 35th anniversary since its original release, it has been officially announced that streaming service MUBI will make all 30 episodes of the iconic series Twin Peaks, originally aired in 1990 and 1991, accessible for streaming from June 13 onward.
On Amazon’s Prime Video, you can easily include MUBI as an additional channel for a monthly fee of £11.99. But don’t worry, you can test it out first with a complimentary 7-day trial before committing to a paid subscription.
In the ’90s, the intriguing thriller series “Twin Peaks” was born by the hands of David Lynch and Mark Frost. It centers around FBI agent Dale Cooper, portrayed by Kyle McLaughlan, who delves into the mysterious murder of local teenager Laura Palmer in the quaint town of Twin Peaks.
As the investigation deepens in Twin Peaks, more enigmas and supposedly paranormal events connected to Laura’s death begin to surface, tying everything together. This is hinted at in the story summary.
Katharina Feistauer, VP of Global Programming at MUBI, expressed excitement about the prospect of introducing the highly acclaimed and talked-about TV series ‘Twin Peaks’ to their platform, which they consider a dream come true.
Although it took several months to prepare for this launch, the recent unfortunate passing of David Lynch just a few weeks ago makes presenting his legendary work all the more unique and memorable.
Our members who are Lynch enthusiasts will be thrilled to delve deeply into all the episodes again. At the same time, this provides a chance for brand-new viewers to experience and explore it for the very first time.
In 2017, a new season called “Twin Peaks: The Return” was launched, however, it won’t be included on MUBI.
25 years following the original Twin Peaks events, the narrative resumes with Dale Cooper’s journey, last seen in 1991 as he chased a rogue agent into a mysterious dimension known as the Black Lodge.
In “The Return,” I found myself ensnared in the eerie Lodge, as my doppelgänger, influenced by the sinister spirit known as BOB, had broken free. My mission was clear: break free from the Lodge, bring an end to BOB’s malevolent reign, and finally solve the haunting mystery surrounding Laura Palmer’s tragic death.
Twin Peaks will be available to stream on MUBI from 13 June.
