Cueva Curates a Cozy Vibe in Renovated Subterranean West Village Store
Recently, Cueva, a menswear label from West Village, temporarily closed its doors for a comprehensive renovation. This hidden gem on Christopher Street, one of the few physical stores in the city that carries Our Legacy, has reopened at its original historic location with an entirely new layout.
On Instagram, the brand announced a fresh makeover for their existing underground spot, maintaining the same address but offering a revamped, tidy, and comfy ambiance. Cueva’s caretaker, Justin Fellizzari, collaborated closely with Juntos Projects to craft this new space, aiming to replicate the vibrant assortment of global labels that Cueva is renowned for within its interior design. Among the brands you can find in their store are 032c, A Kind of Guise, Engineered Garments, NN.07, Metalwood Studio, and N. HOOLYWOOD, which represent a diverse range from Copenhagen to Japan.
According to a press statement, Cueva is created with an atmosphere of finding something new – a hidden gem similar to the brands they stock, secreted away under the West Village.
The heart of the revamped Cueva store lies in a cozy, chat-friendly seating area designed specifically for conversations. The community spirit is central to its design. Although modernized and brimming with renewed vigor, the new space respectfully preserves traces of its past, as the original painting from the old store graces the wall above the conversation nook. Walls painted a soft almond hue dominate the interior, while the back of the store houses fitting rooms adorned in striking sky blue.
