CSI Star to Play Morena Baccarin’s Partner in Fire Country Spinoff

Exciting updates about the cast of “Sheriff Country”! Following Morena Baccarin’s return as a recurring character, previously seen in “Fire Country”, the production team has just announced that they have secured her co-star for the lead role.

According to recent reports, Matt Lauria, known for his role in CSI: Vegas, has joined the cast as the main male character opposite Baccarin in Sheriff Country. The series presents Baccarin as Mickey Fox, Sharon Leone’s stepsister who doubles as the sheriff of Edgewater, a small town. Lauria’s role is Boone, Mickey’s intelligent, tough, and reliable deputy partner with whom she has worked for a long time. Boone hails from Oakland and his unique approach to policing contrasts with that of Mickey, creating a complex and sometimes tense partnership between the two.

I’m thrilled to share that among the familiar faces gracing our series are W. Earl Brown as my ex-con father, who had a past with Baccarin’s Mickey in Fire Country. Christopher Gorham steps into the role of my former husband, also acting as a Sheriff deputy. As we eagerly await further casting announcements, it’s still uncertain if any characters from Fire Country will appear during the initial season of this spinoff. Matt Lopez will be our showrunner and is joined by Max Thierot, Tony Phelan, Joan Rater, Jerry Bruckheimer, and KristieAnne Reed as executive producers.
