CS2 FISSURE Playground #2 Playoffs — Stream, details, results

Several top Counter-Strike 2 teams are competing in this event, and they’ve all advanced to the playoffs. The resulting matches are exciting, though some pairings are particularly challenging.

This isn’t usually a top-tier Counter-Strike 2 tournament, as teams like Vitality and MOUZ didn’t participate. However, with Falcons, The MongolZ, and G2 Esports competing, FISSURE Playground #2 still promises to be an exciting event.

A $500,000 prize and valuable practice opportunities drew in several leading esports organizations. Sixteen teams competed in the initial Swiss Stage, but only the top eight moved on to the Playoffs.

Ultimately, this competition could be another victory for the leading contenders, who have been performing well lately. Alternatively, it could be a significant step forward for players who have been finding it difficult to achieve top rankings.

Another win or a big breakthrough

It’s simple to identify the likely winners, strong contenders, and long shots among the participants in FISSURE Playground #2.

Big favorites

Two teams lifted prestigious CS2 esports trophies right before this tournament.

  • The MongolZ won the Counter-Strike 2 Esports World Cup 2025.
  • G2 Esports are the Champions of BLAST Open Fall 2025.

It’s tough that these two strong contenders have to compete against each other so early in the tournament, in the quarterfinals. It’s going to be an exciting match, but only one of them will advance.

Potential winners

At Counter-Strike 2’s FISSURE Playground #2, two teams are looking strong, but they need one more win to secure the top spot.

  • Aurora Gaming reached the grand final at CS2 EWC 2025. The Turkish roster shows decent results this season.
  • Team Falcons consists of esports celebrities, but their performance is rather a rollercoaster. Falcons were at many big grand finals, but they also failed big at some events, such as the Austin Major 2025.

Underdogs

The rest of the Playoffs participants clearly need to add wins to their accounts.

  • Team Liquid has been struggling a lot recently. The North American organization has added European players to the roster, but Liquid still can’t hit its former glory.
  • Astralis shines at such smaller tournaments as FISSURE Playground — the team was in the grand final of the first event of this series. But then, Astralis can’t even qualify for bigger tournaments. Magisk returned to the organization, replacing stavn. With dev1ce, it’s two players from that legendary roster.

  • FURIA is different now, with FalleN in the roster. The team reached the top 4 at BLAST Open Fall 2025, but it’s not a tournament win yet.
  • paiN Gaming has great potential but not big wins. The team was in the top 4 at the Austin Major.

The next major Counter-Strike 2 esports tournament is ESL Pro League Season 22, running from September 27th to October 12th.
