- The visuals are stunning, and the game runs smoothly on low-end devices, though this comes at the expense of some visual detail.
- It provides an excellent social experience through its diverse game modes, allowing you to make friends, team up, and have fun together.
During the PRECURSOR TEST, which was the second round of closed beta testing for Crystal of Atlan, I had the opportunity to try out Nuverse’s latest action MMORPG title. This game, held on Android devices in certain regions back in December 2023, appears to have great potential based on my initial impressions.
First Impressions of Crystal of Atlan: Unveiled at G-STAR 2023 alongside other mobile games, Crystal of Atlan has been creating a stir due to its stunning graphics, compelling narrative, and engaging MMORPG mechanics. Here are my thoughts on my initial playthrough.
At G-STAR 2023, Crystal of Atlan was among the mobile games introduced, and it’s been making waves with its visually impressive design, captivating storyline, and thrilling MMORPG gameplay. Here are my thoughts on my first encounter with the game.

Crystal of Atlan was one of several mobile games debuted at G-STAR 2023, but it’s been turning heads due to its eye-catching visuals, intriguing storyline, and addictive MMORPG elements. Here are my thoughts on my first dive into the game.
Crystal of Atlan holds the potential to be a big name in the gaming market
I thought the game would be quite impressive, but I never imagined it would be this mind-blowingly good. From the moment you select a character from one of the four classes and embark on the opening chapter, Witch of Decay, the game grabs your attention immediately, causing you to lose track of time.
As an enthusiast, I wholeheartedly affirm that this game holds immense promise. If the developers continue to uphold its quality and avoid any missteps during its official release, I have no doubt it will be a resounding success.

During the trial run of the game, I had a chance to delve into its captivating narrative via the primary chapters, enjoy its thrilling battle mechanics with various attack sequences, abilities, and other aspects. To be frank, it surpassed games like Genshin Impact for me in certain respects, as it allows for greater customization of skills for each character according to one’s personal preference.
As a gamer, I opted for the swashbuckling charm of the Musketeer over the singular Puppeteer, drawn by its impressive attack moves and fluid animations. Later in the game, once I hit level 15, I found myself switching to the cunning Bounty Hunter class instead.
I enjoyed my role as a Bounty Hunter, participating in numerous tasks, interacting with fellow gamers, and embarking on supplementary missions. Additionally, you can acquire significant perks by finishing the auxiliary objectives tied to the primary Chapters.
1. Not only was I captivated by the game’s breathtaking visuals and graphics, but it ran flawlessly on my budget device as well. This suggests that optimization is likely to be even more impressive when the official release arrives. Moreover, the game allows you to choose from three different camera angles: a Role-Playing Game (RPG) in 3D, an Acting perspective (ACT) in 3D, and a 2.5D view. I opted for the ACT one.
The game’s stunning graphics left me spellbound, and it ran seamlessly on my budget phone, hinting at even better optimization when launched officially. The game offers three camera perspectives – a Role-Playing Game (RPG) in 3D, an Acting perspective (ACT) in 3D, and a 2.5D view. I selected the ACT one.
All in all, I found the game captivating due to its intricate world design, charming anime characters, adorable pets, freedom to roam the world, cooking, sleeping in my own home, the enchanting melodies of the Gramophone’s soundtracks, ability to customize characters, engaging narrative with cinematic scenes, and thrilling real-time combat. It’s quite enjoyable to make use of various skills, dodge intense enemy attacks, and execute combos against them.
The variety of game modes offers an engaging gameplay experience
This game provides a rich variety of gaming experiences through its collection of game modes such as Adventure, Cooperative Battle, Special Events, Ranked Matches, and Challenges currently available. The Adventure mode includes the main storylines and side missions that are both fun and appealing for multiple playthroughs.
I had the good fortune to collaborate with two authentic players in the Challenge mode, which involves defeating waves of enemies across various locations. It was an enjoyable experience working as a team, utilizing our combined abilities, and coordinating our efforts. On the European server, I managed to make some German friends using my Duolingo-taught German; thank you Duolingo!
I’m sorry, but we didn’t find a suitable match after spending quite a while in the queue during the beta test. It’s expected that not everyone would be actively participating right away, given it was a testing phase.
Indeed, the social aspect of this game is impressive, allowing you to interact with genuine players across a sprawling universe. You can engage in conversations with them, collaborate as allies, and engage in Ranked, Challenge, or Cooperative fights together.
To be completely honest, I’m genuinely excited for the complete launch of this game since I can’t wait to jump into Ranked battles and enjoy the competitive atmosphere they offer.
Final Thoughts
All in all, I found Crystal of Atlan to be quite impressively engaging. Powered by Unreal Engine 4, it offers stunning graphics and character designs, a captivating narrative and tasks, intricate dungeons, and a battle system that’s both thrilling and versatile with multiple abilities.
In this preliminary stage, the game already looks fantastic, and I’m eager to delve deeper into its offerings once it’s fully released. I can only imagine how much better it will be if they fine-tune it further, especially for less powerful devices.
