Crossroads legend Tony Adams has tragically passed away aged 84 its been announced.

The actor, best known for playing Adam Chance in the ITV soap opera from 1978 to 1988 and then again in the 2001 revival, passed away on Saturday at Sussex County Hospital. His wife, Christine, was with him when he died.

Anthony Adams was born in Anglesey, North Wales, in 1940. He received training at the Italia Conti theatre school in London and began his career as a stage actor.

Nolly, starring Helena Bonham Carter, told the story of Noele Gordon, a hugely popular television star whose career dramatically rose and then fell.

She became famous as Meg Mortimer on the TV show Crossroads, earning her the nickname ‘Queen of the Midlands.’ Initially a favorite among industry insiders, she later fell out of favor with them.

Noele Gordon became a household name in Britain playing Meg Richardson, the red-haired widow on the popular soap opera, Crossroads.

Looking back, it was quite a shock when, in 1981 – right when the show was at its absolute best and I was really enjoying my time in the spotlight – I was suddenly let go. It happened so abruptly, with no warning or explanation whatsoever. It was tough, and sadly, the show itself didn’t last much longer, wrapping up just two years later.

After 18 years on the show, Noele was suddenly let go, and her boss’s words – ‘all good things must come to an end’ – echoed in her mind.

Noele Gordon, an experienced theatre actress, became famous for her role as Meg in the television show Crossroads. She played Meg from 1964 until 1981 and made a brief return to the show in 1983, appearing in two episodes.

Following her departure from the show, Noele’s declining health limited her ability to take on new acting roles. She sadly passed away in 1985 at the age of 66.
