Chuang Games has begun a closed beta test for its adventure RPG, Cross Gate: Adventure. The test is available on Android in Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, and the Philippines and runs from now until October 13th. The game is officially licensed by Square Enix and is based on the popular online game, Cross Gate.

Cross Gate is a Japanese online role-playing game (MMORPG) created by Dwango, originally launched in 2001. It quickly became popular, particularly in China, leading to several follow-up games including Cross Gate M, Cross Gate: New World, and Cross Gate: Rebirth. The combat system is similar to that of the Dragon Quest series.

I’m really excited to jump back into this game! They’ve done an awesome job recreating all the classic moments, but with a modern feel. What really has me hooked is the huge number of pets – over 100! – and they all have their own special abilities and ways to level up. Plus, being able to combine pets to build the ultimate team, mixing everything from powerful dragons to cute sprites, sounds like a ton of fun!
The game’s turn-based battles look engaging, and I’m excited to try out different skill combinations. Overall, it seems like a game worth checking out, with features like a free market for trading, a player-controlled economy, the ability to earn rewards even when you’re not actively playing, plus cool mounts and pets – and plenty more to discover.
Honestly, I’m a little bummed we’re not getting a closed beta test here, but if you’re in Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, or the Philippines, awesome news! It’s a chance to check out this really cool pixelated, turn-based RPG, with all the classic story bits, a system to create and evolve pets, and even an open market where you can trade with other players.
