Croc Legend of the Gobbos is Getting a Remaster

Oh, the sheer joy that floods my heart as I hear the news of Argonaut Games making a comeback! As a kid, I spent countless hours navigating through the pixelated worlds of Starglider and Croc Legend of the Gobbos, with Star Fox on the SNES being the icing on the cake. The memories are still vivid in my mind, even after all these years.

As an ardent gaming enthusiast, I can’t contain my excitement as I share this thrilling news: After a two-decade break, Argonaut Games is back on the scene! Their inaugural return project? A remastered version of Croc: Legend of the Gobbos, the iconic 1997 3D platformer that captured our hearts. I can hardly wait to jump back into this nostalgic world!

Argonaut Games is known for popular classics such as Starglider, Starglider 2, and the original Star Fox on the SNES, along with games for platforms like PlayStation 1, SEGA Saturn, and PC, including Croc: Legend of the Gobbos. The studio also created Catwoman: The Game, inspired by the poorly received film starring Halle Berry.

Title Redefinition: The Croc Saga of the Gobbos revolves around the main character, the crocodile, who saves the Gobbos from the malevolent Baron Dante. The remastered version will showcase improved high-definition graphics, refined control schemes, and a faithful replication of the original gameplay experience, maintaining its nostalgic charm. Additionally, a fresh in-game museum named ‘Crocipedia’ will be incorporated, housing rare development materials such as design blueprints, concept art, animation trials, developer interviews, and other fascinating insights from the past.

Have a look at the sneak peek video for Croc Legend of the Gobbos below. It’s set to arrive on both consoles and PC platforms, though the specific launch date is still undisclosed.
