Cristin Milioti celebrated winning her first Emmy on Sunday, but her night took a funny turn when she tripped and briefly misplaced the award outside an afterparty.
The 40-year-old actress received an Emmy Award for her performance as Sofia Gigante in HBO’s The Penguin, winning in the lead actress category for a limited series.
The actress won, marking both her first nomination and first award, besting competitors including Michelle Williams, Rashida Jones, Meghann Fahy, and Cate Blanchett.
And Cristin celebrated hard, hitting Vas J Morgan’s house party.
The famous TV star arrived at the glamorous party, but unfortunately tripped right at the entrance, causing her Emmy award to fall.
Cristin, now wearing a black dress and leather jacket instead of her red gown, seemed fine. She was laughing as a friend and the doorman assisted her to her feet and picked up the gong she’d been holding.

Cristin was then spotted dancing and taking photos with Noah Wyle, a star from the show ‘The Pitt,’ who was also a winner that night.
The actress was surprised and delighted when she won an Emmy at the ceremony, which took place at the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles.
Colin Farrell, her co-star from ‘The Penguin,’ accompanied her to the stage, where she delivered a heartfelt acceptance speech.
She apologized as she approached the podium, explaining, ‘I jotted this down on the back of my therapy notes, so please don’t look.’
Honestly, things feel pretty overwhelming these days, and it’s tough to find meaning in everything happening around us. That’s why I’m making a conscious effort to really appreciate the little joys and positive moments – they make all the difference.
Working on this show with such a talented team, and getting to play this character, was a real highlight for me. Even though the show deals with some dark and disturbing themes, stepping into her shoes felt incredibly liberating.
You know, when I was growing up, my family was wonderfully weird and always let me explore things a little too early – like movies definitely not meant for my age! I always appreciate their support and willingness to let me be myself, even when it was a bit unconventional.
Cristin’s Emmy Award is the most recent of many honors she’s received for her work on The Penguin, adding to a Screen Actors Guild Award nomination and a Critics Choice Award win.

The actress began her career on stage, and in 2012, she won a Tony Award for her role as Girl in the Broadway musical, Once.
She became well-known for her role as Tracy McConnell, often called ‘the Mother,’ on the TV show *How I Met Your Mother*. She’s also been in films like Martin Scorsese’s *The Wolf of Wall Street* and the series *Black Mirror*.
