Cricketer Nathan Lyon’s wife Emma shares a very rare glimpse into their lavish wedding as she marks their second anniversary

As an obsessed fan of Nathan Lyon and his beautiful wife Emma, I cannot help but be utterly captivated by their love story and the rare glimpses into their private lives that they share with us. Their wedding video is a breathtaking testament to their romantic union, and it brings a smile to my face to see Emma looking radiant in her white satin gown as she joins her loved ones for the sit-down meal at their reception. The picture-perfect setting, with its elegant place settings, tapered candles, and delicate menu, only adds to the enchanting ambiance of the day.

Emma, Nathan Lyon’s spouse, recently posted an exclusive video of their grand wedding ceremony online to celebrate their second anniversary on Thursday.

In July 2022, after being in a relationship for five years, the thirty-six-year-old cricketer exchanged vows with Emma in a lovely wedding ceremony. He only posted a few photos of their big day on social media initially.

The couple, known for keeping their personal matters hidden from the public, have recently allowed fans a peek into their wedding through a heartfelt Instagram post shared by Emma.

She took to the social media platform to share a short clip from their reception.

In the video, Emma beautifully embodied the role of a bride in a stunning white satin dress with exquisite off-shoulder transparent sleeves and delicate buttons adorning its back.

For the significant event, she gathered her golden locks into a sophisticated bun, and her bangs artfully accentuated her beautiful facial features.

From a vantage point behind her, the camera captured the scene as the bride took her seat among her dear ones for the formal dinner at the wedding reception, revealing immaculately set tables before us.

Beautiful arrangements of white blooms adorned the tables, accompanied by slender candles. Each guest found a refined menu waiting for them.

In early 2021, it was rumored that the couple had become engaged. This was suggested by the sighting of Emma wearing a sparkling engagement ring. They then tied the knot approximately a year after that event.

After getting married, my partner Nathan and I have been blessed with our first child – a precious baby boy. We’re still deciding on a name for him.

The couple hid their pregnant woman from public view and didn’t make any birth announcements. Instead, they were first spotted loving and caring for their newborn baby boy towards the end of last year.

“Emma shared in December, after a long pause, ‘Having a baby has been quite an experience for us. Between rehabilitation, the Ashes cricket series, and traveling to India – it’s all been go non-stop'”

It was wonderful to have Nathan back home with us for a few months, yet the arrangement didn’t suit us ideally.

Nathan is famously known for his laidback nature and his wife said he is just as relaxed at home.

She revealed that he has a strong connection with reality and takes pleasure in simple joys of life, such as taking their pet for walks every morning and evening, and enjoying barbecues in their backyard. The beauty of their domestic life lies in its simplicity, filled with the presence of their children.

Earlier this year, Nathan gave a rare insight into his marriage as he admitted he wasn’t the best partner to his then-pregnant wife after his brutal Ashes injury.

During the second Test at Lord’s last year, Nathan was injured when his calf muscle collapsed. Despite this setback, he bravely limped out to bat with only one leg, receiving a warm applause from the crowd as he contributed to Australia’s victory.

Due to his injury, he was unfortunately unable to continue in the series and had to miss out on the last three crucial tests, which took place in Australia. He watched these matches with a feeling of disappointment.

He admitted to 7NEWS.com.au that he may not have been the kindest or best spouse during the past three Test matches while at home. However, they managed to get through that challenging period together.

After sustaining a severe injury, Nathan expressed a strong desire to hear the comforting voice of his pregnant wife who was back in Australia at that time.

He mentioned that he successfully reached out to Emma for a conversation, finding it pleasant and reassuring to do so.

She witnesses both my best moments and my struggles, possibly more than any other person. The comfort I find in her presence is unmatched by anything else in this world.

‘I’m very grateful for Em and what she’s been able to do for me, especially throughout my career.’

In 2017, Nathan introduced his new relationship with the stylish real estate agent to the public, after going through a contentious divorce from Mel Waring.

In the last quarter of 2017, Nathan and Mel’s romantic involvement became known to the public when they were spotted kissing in Perth, despite Nathan being in a relationship with someone else at the time.

I’m absolutely consumed by their story, having followed it closely for years. They share two beautiful girls, Harper and Milla, whom I adore. Mel opened up about their painful separation in a heartfelt post on her blog, Life of Lyons, back in March 2018.

She expressed her disappointment in how things turned out, writing, “This wasn’t the plan for me, and he was meant to be a constant part of my life, my universe.”

Throughout it all, I remained completely committed to our life together and cherished every aspect of him and our shared world. This revelation came as a shock, hitting me unexpectedly.

‘I had to deal with [it] in a very public, humiliating and confronting way. A part of me died.’
