Creator of beloved “masterpiece” series to get exciting new police drama at Netflix

The creator of Power has landed a new police drama series on Netflix.

Courtney A Kemp and Tani Marole have jointly developed the series titled “Nemesis” for the streaming platform, revealing both the cast lineup and a brief summary of the plot.

The upcoming series explores the narrative of two characters, one a man with exceptional skills in crime, and the other a highly intelligent police officer. Their paths collide in this tale, showcasing the consequences when an unyielding entity encounters a relentless force.

Initially, this show sets out to twist the traditional heist genre in unexpected ways, combining heart-pounding peril, intricate family relationships, and high-octane action. However, what it truly uncovers is a study of our motivations, support systems, and ultimately, our downfalls.

The upcoming series will feature Matthew Law from “Abbott Elementary” in the role of Isaiah Stiles, Y’lan Noel from “Insecure” as Coltrane Wilder, Cleopatra Coleman from “Black Rabbit” as Ebony Wilder, and Tre Hale from “Platonic” as Darren ‘Stro’ Stroman.

Or, in a more conversational tone:
The new series will have Matthew Law (from Abbott Elementary) playing Isaiah Stiles, Y’lan Noel (from Insecure) as Coltrane Wilder, Cleopatra Coleman (from Black Rabbit) as Ebony Wilder, and Tre Hale (from Platonic) as Darren ‘Stro’ Stroman.

Additionally, we have Domenick Lombardozzi from Power playing the role of Dave Cerullo, while Jonnie Park takes on the character of Chris Choi. Moreover, Ariana Guerra from CSI: Vegas has been cast as Yvette Cruz in our production.

As a passionate gamer, I’m thrilled to team up with Tani to deliver an intense psychological crime drama on Netflix. Set in a unique location, this series dives deep into themes that resonate universally – the battle between right and wrong, the complexities of love and loss, and the struggle between loyalty and self-preservation. That’s what Kemp shared with us!

The show, titled “Power,” initially aired from 2014 to 2020, spanning a total of six captivating seasons. Throughout this period, it garnered praise not only from viewers but also from critics. Since then, several sequels have been generated based on the original series.

One person on IMDb described the primary series as an “outstanding masterwork,” while another praised it as a “strong and captivating crime drama, featuring a talented cast who are sure to leave an impression.

Various seasons of the show “Power” have all received a perfect fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes. “Deadline” deemed the fifth season as “essential,” while “Detroit News” described season 4 as “seductive, glamorous, and hard to resist.

Nemesis will stream on Netflix.
